– the Cardinals will win this home series 2-1 over a team tied for the second-fewest wins in the NL.
Or
– they will drop their second series to a last-place NL team in the last week and a half.Well with Mikolas pitching I’m guessing it is the latter even though Soroka himself has been quite bad.
The Cubs are pounding Minnesota this afternoon at Metropolitan Stadium. Peter has jacked two for the Cubs so far today.
Need to win tonight or we will fall 6.5 games behind. On the verge of falling out of the NLC for good.

It was just announced that Fedde will start on Saturday.
Well, if nothing else the law of averages almost have to indicate that he’s somewhat due for a decent turn.
They are giving him the start Saturday in hopes of boosting his trade value since he would have more value as a starter than a reliever. The key word there is hope.
Neither starter is anything to get excited about. This one might be a case of who is less bad. If one guy can hold the other club to say 4 runs in 5 or 6 innings, his team will have a shot at winning.
I can’t imagine any contending team trading for Fedde the way he has pitched.
Should have been traded in the offseason.
On Fedde, seems like the best option would be to pitch him in relief in low stress situations, and put McGreevy in the rotation. But maybe the roster move to so that is not optimal.
As mentioned, the club obviously hopes he can turn in a decent start or two and then maybe move him for a 30 year old career minor leaguer that bats right handed.
So the FO took a rotation turn to think about their starters “situation”, then decides, we’re good? Or did I miss some news?
Yeah, not only was it good, but it also speaks to the genuine reality…The Cardinals specialize in resurrecting Mannys…
Another base hit for Donovan in his second trip to the plate. He’s beginning to convince a few people that he can hit. If he keeps it up for too much longer, he may even convince Rat that he can handle a bat…Haha!
