I make chocolate shakes all the time in an old Osterizer brand blender that I bought at a yard sale for exactly $1 a year or two before Dekinger’s blown call at 1B…That thing still runs and works like a champ. It continues to makes outstanding chocolate milk shakes and is infinitely more easy to clean than Mrs. 1TD’s fancy smoothie maker machine. It’s been my own personal experience that the secret to making a first-rate, world class milkshake is to use the type of sweetened condensed milk that is used for a lot of baking recipes. I use it in a roughly 50/50 ratio with ordinary milk and the result is a pretty doggone good milkshake. Incidentally…The blender is at least 50 to 60 years old and I almost always happen to notice that on the underside of the electric motor housing it reads, “Made in U.S.A.”…Haha!

I’m still incredibly surprised to see our old friend Manny Motter is back with the team and manned up out in CF for tonight’s baseball game. If ever there was a time for Redbird fans to get reaquainted with Manny, it’s during the most important game of the season to date…

You sure got the bargain of the century on your world class Osterizer blender, TD. I’ve been looking online for one since Rat brought them up earlier in this thread and I think I’ve zeroed in on one. It’s an all metal Multimixer just like the ones that Ray Kroc used to sell before finagling his way into McDonald’s. You can make 5 milkshakes simultaneously. It’s only $299……a far cry from the $1 price that TD paid for his gem. Hey TD…….maybe I should have you wheel and deal on this Multimixer I’m poised to buy…….I wouldn’t mind paying $5 vs $299.

I don’t know if I should be, but I salt my canteloup CIF. This melon is especially sweet, what’s left of it!

I used to buy a lot of household stuff at yard sales for next to nothing, Pugs. When I was working, I’d also buy old clothes like T-shirts, sweat shirts and old off brand blue jeans. Many times they’d be ruined on the first day I wore them to work by slag or spark burns or reactive adhesives. Or they were too filthy to risk washing in Mrs. 1TD’s washing machine…Haha! But they came so cheap I’d just toss them and not worry about it. And before anyone ever heard of Harbor Freight, I used to pick up a lot of hand tools on the cheap that turned out to be pretty useful and lasted for quite a while. Back then I’d use all of that money I saved for solid investments like beer and motorcycles…Haha!

I like a just a light dash of black pepper on cantaloupe, jj. I’d recommend trying it. Just a little though.

Good idea. I like light pepper on cottage cheese and peaches or applesauce. Should have tried it by now.

Oh yeah, jj, you almost have to have pepper on cottage cheese. I also like a little tabasco on cottage cheese.

I’d like to see the Redbird bats ambush this lefty. His career mumbers are less than lackluster, but it doesn’t look like he’s had a bad turn with the Cubbies in over a month or more.

Not looking good early here. Fedde is really average. Might be looking at needing tomorrow’s game to take this series.

With Sqggese at second wearing 25, it takes me back to my childhood and seeing Julian Javier out there. Hoolie wore glasses, but the uniform number brings things full circle.

They’re ripping away on 0-3 and producing taters while doing it. This is getting out of hand early.

Your recollection is right, Carter. McGee and Smith both crossed HP on that Herr sac fly.

Pozo with the lead-off double. Well, it’s a start. Push him across, boys.

Manny flails at the first pitch for a weak pop fly for the first out…And I mean weak pop fly.

Pozo is a free swinger, and can really hit. Doesn’t work the count – goes after anything close most of the time.

Why isn’t ol’ Dusty in the booth with TLR? If it weren’t so hot they could cuddle…

While Flash is throwing BP, we should consider scoring.

Well, that’s a relief, but I remember them scoring within a stride or 2 of each other. That was something I never saw before or since!
