Can McGreevy continue to pitch well? If so he will earn a spot in the rotation for 2026. Perhaps the same with Graceffo.

Taillon has pitched pretty good for the Cubs so far. And no doubt the Cubs will be honked since they took an 8-2 loss last night. Oli will have the lefty bats in there again just like last night.

And it’s very hot here in SW Indiana right now. I was going to drive down to the mall in Evansville but it’s simply too hot to do much so I stayed home. I’ll be giving Whitey Herdog a bath here in the next couple of hours. And then have din-din. Today’s din-din will be a tuna salad sandwich from Subway, some deviled eggs, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a chocolate shake.

On the off-chance anyone is interested, din-din chez les CiFs began with a juicy cantaloupe melon, then moved on to pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn, plus cornbread right out of the oven (despite the 99 degree 37C heat in these parts) and a large glass of iced tea. No dessert, though I may slip back into the kitchen later this evening for a small dish of Haagen-Dazs.

Seriously CiF? I think I speak for all fellow game threaders in saying that we relish all of the din-din revelations here. Your din-dins are especially not only out of this country(you living in the South of France), but also out of this world. Rat’s din-dins too are special. We love it when BicycleMike and Scotty occasionally weigh in too…..we wish more posters stepped up to the plate with their din-din delights. Staying on topic, we know that Rat’s favorite dessert is his tasty, frosty chocolate milk shakes and my favorite is those scrumptious Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies, but how about others chiming in with your favorite desserts.

I’m super excited for tonight’s game. It was great winning the first of this 4 game grudge match. McGreevy can get it done this evening. How sweet it would be taking these first 2 games.

Tonight I am going with cheese enchildas, rice, beans, and a tall glass of cold skim milk. Dessert menu? I keep it simple. Usually some milk chocolate raisinets or a little debbie chocolate brownie. Occasionally the wifey and I will snag something from the organic food store down the street but not tonight.

I wonder if this game will manage to attract more than the 27K that the box claimed for last night’s contest. I was astounded when I saw that paltry number at the end of the nice 8-2 victory that the Redbirds tagged on to Cubbies last night. I’m guessing that Billy Jr. gets more than a bit spun up when he eyes that sort of spreadsheet. In any case, I hope the BFIB pick up the pace and feature a better turnout for tonight’s game before Biily Jr. becomes angry and threatens to move the team to Little Rock…

And after those four 2 run taters we saw last night from the Redbird bats I’m also hoping that this team begins to offer up even a slight indication that they can hit…If they don’t, we may have to place a call to Vilade’s agent…

At just a shade prior to the half way mark, Contreras and Arenado are quietly beginning to piece together a season in which both of them are generating respectable offensive production. They’re on pace for roughly 100 and 80 RBI’s respectively. Both of them have produced only 10 HR’s, so I’d like to see a little more raw power emerging from their bats. At any rate, they’re both pushing a few runs across HP.

You wait and see. After those four dongs last night EVERYBODY will come out slugging tonight. SLUG SLUG SLUG. As a result we will probably lose this game something like 6-1. This loss will be because of our approach at the plate tonight that is based upon last nights slugging.

Tonight we find out if our hitting coach knows what he’s doing. Or if the players pay any attention to what he says.

There’s no such thing as a small dish of Haaden-Dazs. Remove lid. Dispose of in trash can. Eat the whole thing with a fork.

Best I can tell, the Redbird manager hasn’t touched any of the controls and the lineup is unchanged from last night’s.

Despite the soccer style arm patch advertising, both teams are suited up and dressed out in what look to be genuine Big League style uniforms.

Suzuki’s putting together a nice enough year with the Cubs where you’d almost suspect he may be related to Ichi.

Something terribly wrong with Quinn Mathews tonight for Memphis. Walked 4 in an inning and left the game after 1 1/3 innings. Was really wild.
