The Dodgers feature quite a few first rate Big League stars who are, without question, household names that include Freeman, Ohtani, Betts, etc…But I’m not entirely sure many of these fans would have been willing to wait out this weather delay if Little Eddie wouldn’t have been in the lineup…Haha!

Boy Gray threw that pitch 1.5 ft outside and Andy Pages still put enough bat on it to get a single

The Dodgers do have a star studded lineup. I love the ovation for Edman.

Edman is 8 for 18 when facing Gray? I’d IBB him…

Well, I see that our RF’er Manny Motter ll still comes with a scorching hot bat…He’s 0-7 on the season with a .138 career BA. Rat will love this guy…Haha!

Arenado picking it up vs lefties will help.

Worblo is dealing instead of Yamamoto…..how sweet is that. Hopefully we won’t see him at all this series. Jnevel’s boy (Pages) comes up big. These guys are sweepable.

The top 3 of this Dodgers lineup just isn’t fair. All 3 of those guys will have a plaque in the Hall of Fame.

All jokes aside, why is Vilade even on the 26 man? I don’t follow minor league baseball, but isn’t there anyone in Memphis or the other affiliates that can play a corner OF position that also possesses even a minimal ability to swing a bat?

Yeah, you’re not kidding ATM. They feature a genuine 3 headed monster right out of the gate.

I’m not sure why everyone has a problem with Vilade on the 40 man and 26 man. He was acquired exactly for this to be a disposable guy to add to the roster for a short term injury and a guy who you aren’t concerned with DFA’ing and losing later. He was probably the best performing guy the Cards had in the minors as well. Another key is he is a RH batter which gives him the edge on the LH batters in Memphis given the current roster construction with many LH batters in the lineup.

That makes perfect sense, ATM. He’s Manny Motter all over again!

Whew Gray gets out of 2 singles to start the inning after K’ing Freeman and Hernandez. He did get lucky that rocket of a batted ball was right at Vilade to end the inning though

They prob may be, why isn’t the OF depth better?

Here is Vilade’s slash this year in Memphis in 192 PA. He was drawing walks, hitting the ball, and hitting for a little power with HRs and doubles

    .280/.375/.476

I don’t mean to pile on to Vilade and I hope he does good, but when I see the numbers on the back of his card, they just don’t instill any confidence. Then, when I see him stand in and take his rips, it gets worse…

The OF depth could be better specifically from the right side, but I don’t think the average team was sitting in a better situation than the Cards for depth there. The team and even the Memphis prospects to take a spot lean too heavily LH.

I don’t like seeing Donny try to bunt so much. Especially with 1 out. Just swing the bat and try to get a hit. He is one of the best at doing that.

Yeah, he showed bunt last night too in the early innings. I think they were down by a run or two and it was only the second inning. Bad approach early in a game for a guy who can swing the bat.
