I wasn’t a big Pallante fan. Thought his mechanics were such that he would struggle with control. But he has really shown he belongs in the rotation.
Not meant to disparage Nado, but Scott Rolen was one of the best baserunners I’ve ever seen navigate the basepaths.
Herrera with that odd stance, but gets himself in the hitting zone and is looking like a real fine hitter.
Larry Walker was about the best I have ever seen as a base runner. But I saw a lot of Rockies games back when he was out here.
Yeah, Walker was real good in the precise same context as was Rolen. Two guys who became really smart whenever they walked onto a playing field.
Scott Rolen will be at the National Sports Collectors Convention this year. I would buy an autograph ticket and meet him, but he signs on Saturday and I will only be there Thursday and Friday. Albert Pujols is signing Saturday as well.
I see the Cubs rolled up another bunch of runs today, against their cross town rivals. Those guys will be tough as they have not had their two top pitchers much this year.
Yeah, those Cubbies have had no trouble pushing runs across. Hopefully that trait will recede a little bit by the time we play them some time in the next century…

I don’t know how many follow any auto racing, but those Royals batting helmets remind me of the livery used for all those “Mild Seven” sponsored race cars.
Great start by Pallante and good job overall on the offense. Herrera with 4 RBIs and 2 runs is my player of the game though.
