We had a pretty stout gust of high speed wind blow thru here at approx. 3 p.m. that knocked out the power for an hour or so and set off the tornado sirens at the firehouse down the street. The high winds only lasted a couple of minutes but still managed to leave me with a decent sized mess of busted tree limbs in the front yard. Our next door neighbor helped me drag the larger ones around the side of the house and into the back yard near to the garage. They’re large enough that I’ll have to fill the saw with mix and cut them up into bite size pieces in the morning before I toss them into a brush pile. I happened to see on the news that other areas of StL. Co. got hit pretty good with what looked to be more than just some gusts of high wind. Hope everyone’s alright.

In any case, we’ll get to see a player who I feel is in the top 3 players in either league when Witt Jr. walks on to the playing field. I wish we had an outstanding young player like him on our team. There’s not any area of the game in which he doesn’t excel and, in my view, he illustrates a baseball player that’s destined for greatness.

Witt indeed is a very entertaining player to watch. Hits very well, fields well, is the fastest man in baseball.

Hopefully the Cards can be a little aggressive at 5 in the draft this year and choose a high upside HS position player to get our own elite young player one day.

Glad to hear you are at least okay 1TD. Sounds like you have some weekend fun planned with those limbs.

It was a little odd at our house, KCB. It got real dark, but never even really rained to speak of. Just a couple of strong gusts of wind over the course of 5 minutes or so, and then the sun came out. It’s been nice ever since. Strange weather pattern.

ha that pitch was very well outside to Witt, but the ump rings him up

Make-up call K’s Witt. Andre is filling the zone so well his misses have purpose. 46 pitches after 3 IP.

Thanks, Albert. It shouldn’t be too bad. I’ll go on the attack early tomorrow morning while it’s still nice and cool. Should be able to take care of the majority with the limb loppers with just a little bit of the battle requiring the use of the saw.

I’m sure the Rangers are plenty happy about their World Series win in 2023 after trading Ragans for Chapman, but boy I bet they wish they gave up someone else. Ragans completely turned the corner in KC and has been a great SP

This teams winning ways has been linked strongly with Contreras smacking the crap out of the ball

Now Herrera drives one in with a single. His return has been very welcome and his bat has been great this year

Is this too good to be true? Is Herrera for real?
Either way I’m headed to the freezer for that pint of Ben and Jerrys.

It wasn’t too long ago that I was criticising the lack of production coming from Contreras’ bat, but he’s really seeing it good for the last week or so. Hope he continues to do so.

1TD, in the month of May Contreras is hitting .349/.453/.605 with 3 HR, 7 Runs, and 13 RBIs.

Let’s make some stuff up Dom. IF Contreras continued his excellent first base defense AND continued his assault on NL pitching AND the Cardinals win their division, MVP? Yea that’s a lot of making up things.
