I thought they were gonna take it away from him…Haha!
March 31, 2025 at 6:55 pm #278465Noot will lead the Cards in WAR this year and be an All-Star.
March 31, 2025 at 6:57 pm #278466That’s the first time I ever got lucky and called one…The Nootz is now 1 HR closer to Rickey’s lead-off tater record!
March 31, 2025 at 6:57 pm #278467
jj-cf-stlParticipantGood work Dom! Call some more…
March 31, 2025 at 6:57 pm #278468Agreed, Albert. But this is not the same Victor Dwanyne Scott ll that we saw last year. He’ll be leading off soon.
March 31, 2025 at 6:59 pm #278469Did you call infield hit for Baker too?
March 31, 2025 at 6:59 pm #278470Haha!…I’m not kidding, JJ. That’s the first time I ever called one! I should get in the truck and head straight for Vegas…It’s my lucky day!
March 31, 2025 at 7:00 pm #278471Haha…”IF hit for Baker”…I got lucky, but not THAT lucky, Jnevel…
March 31, 2025 at 7:05 pm #278472
jj-cf-stlParticipantHA!
March 31, 2025 at 7:12 pm #278473Now Donny with a solo HR
March 31, 2025 at 7:12 pm #278474Donovan with the solo act TATER…2-0!
March 31, 2025 at 7:14 pm #278475Pugs, I do agree Scott has more in the tank. His swing looks so much better this year. Now he gets a really nice double with his speed.
March 31, 2025 at 7:16 pm #278476
jj-cf-stlParticipantOur lefties are really struggling vs the lefty Anderson.
March 31, 2025 at 7:19 pm #278477
stlcard25ParticipantNoot making that ridiculous MLB article comparing him to Soto and Ohtani look good at the moment…
March 31, 2025 at 7:20 pm #278478Mikolas has never really impressed me but, at almost 37 years of age, he’s been around for a while now and has collected almost 1100 innings of work in the Big Leagues. I’m hoping he’ll be one of those SP’ers who develops into the sort of seasoned veteran type SP’er who deploys his past experience and mental prowess on the mound to a degree that he gives certain teams fits. Hey, it could happen…We’ve all seen guys like that who give the Cardinals a difficult time when they take their turn against the Redbirds.

jj-cf-stlParticipantBy 36 yrs old, Suppan was hanging on. Miles contract yr….
March 31, 2025 at 7:43 pm #278482
jj-cf-stlParticipantI wonder if Walker can throw it over the CF wall, staying behind home plate.
March 31, 2025 at 7:49 pm #278484
jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s a Brian question right there.
March 31, 2025 at 7:53 pm #278485Yeah, JJ, good comparison. Many may recall that Suppan was the 2006 NLCS MVP. He worked a shade more than 15 IP’ed and only surrendered 5 hits in that NLCS. He worked the pressure cooker game 7 at old Shea Stadium and made possible the late inning heroics from Molina and Wainwright. The Redbirds don’t win anything without Suppan in ’06.
March 31, 2025 at 8:01 pm #278486Whoa…Baker’s eyes lit up like he hit the jackpot on that 3-2 offering. Up in his eyes and he just missed it. Draws the BB to give Nado a chance. Need to extend this 1 run lead.
March 31, 2025 at 8:03 pm #278487There we go…Big 2 out RBI base hit from Nado! Not crazy about the baserunning though. Oh well, 3-1 Redbirds.
March 31, 2025 at 8:04 pm #278488
jj-cf-stlParticipantMikolas lack of walks keeps him in the zone, but it’s also a bad place for mistakes. Disrupt timing and live on the edges as his best case? He has been capable of that.
March 31, 2025 at 8:07 pm #278489No one else in today’s world makes that play for the out.
March 31, 2025 at 8:12 pm #278490
jj-cf-stlParticipantLeahy struggled in the early righty appearance. Roycrofts turn w/some leverage.
March 31, 2025 at 8:16 pm #278491
jj-cf-stlParticipantHerrera oops
