I’m in the middle of preparing a Sunday din-din of cantaloupe melon, to be followed by rabbit cacciatore and mashed potatoes, and finishing off with fresh raspberries. I’ll then settle in to my easy chair for hopefully a thrashing of these Padres on a perfectly sunny 80-degree day.
    Rah Cardinals!

Unfortunately the offense will dictate how this goes and right now it’s too many cold bats on extremely humid summer days. Hopefully we can get 6 from McGreevy as Leahy is out for this one for sure. Matz should be available unless he’s being dealt and JoJo and Helsley ( see Matz).

We should be able to kolekt a few runs off this righty today. Eleven years ago, his older brother, Tyler Kolek, was drafted 2nd overall by the Marlins. Tyler had an absolutely miserable minor league career and became only the 5th player in MLB history to be drafted 2nd overall and yet never make it to the big club. And what’s for din-din tonight one may ask? You know, I’m not sure yet, so I’m going to have whatever din-din the next poster posts…..hope it’s a goodie.

Din-din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some fast food french fries, deviled eggs, a Pepsi, and a chocolate shake for dessert.

I wonder how many hit batters we will have today? And will the benches clear in this one like they have the first two games?

And from a meteorological standpoint all is clear in the greater St. Louis area. No rain in sight and temps will be in the low 90s.

Whew…..glad I got a dandy din-din to copy. I’ll broil the ribeye vs air frying it and pick up fries from Five Guys. Thanks Rat!

    Good job Pugs!

And I meant, in the post above, how many batters will be hit by a pitch today?

Rats and Pugs….. the only way to cook a ribeye is to grill it on an open hardwood fire. Black on the outside and red on the inside. That’s the first thing that I’m going to order when I get to heaven. Any other “first order” out there.

ps. CiF…. we don’t do rabbit over here and I doubt they’ll have in on the menu upstairs.

Already a bad start for McGreevy. 1st-3rd and no outs.

Make that 2-0 on a hit and an error. You think Brad and Chip will have about the defense after another terrible error costing us a run?

And none of that old school bases on straps either. Square post bases, to rabbit the corners!

I’m no longer sure it’s humanly possible to move quick enough to turn on the TV for a Cardinal game before they’ve handed the opposition a 2 or 3 run lead in the 1st inning. It’s becoming more than a little strange and uncanny.

Probably should have asked in the minors game thread. Attendance there is likely better too!

Crooks would be an excellent compliment to a nice lefty-righty hitting combo if indeed his defense is up to speed.

It already seems like an insurmountable lead for us to comeback from. Only thing we have going for us is the starters ERA is over 5.

It’s looking like Pages is not an everyday catcher. He would be fine as a backup, but does not bring any offense.

Going by WAR, in only a little over 100 ABs, Yohel Pozo has a .5 WAR. In more than twice as many ABs, Pages is at zero.

I would be putting Pozo in there more the rest of this season to see if he can keep the production going, and get a good read on what his abilities are.

12 batters by McG and one K. Feels like a Pallante start.

Walker trying to turn his season around. They all have a couple more months.

Herrera was ‘ready’, so don’t get lathered up until we see what ‘ready’ is this time.
