jj-cf-stlParticipantWinn gets em over and a ball in play scores one run w/a productive out. 1-0
July 25, 2025 at 6:59 pm #288307Well, Dierburghs has Ben and Jerry’s on sale for 2$ off. Now I don’t lke Ben and Jerry’s politics or their prices. But for 2$ off, I bought 2. Now lets see if I have enough self control to eat only 1/2 a pint.
July 25, 2025 at 7:02 pm #288309Mikolas escaped danger in the 3rd. He has issues in the 4th lurking with 3-4 hitters being left handed. Dare to dream of a clean slate in the 4th and having him face the bottom in the 5th and having Matz warming up. It’s baby steps with the Lizard King now.
July 25, 2025 at 7:10 pm #288311NVM!!!! Get Matz up now!!!
July 25, 2025 at 7:27 pm #288313Mikolas with a chance to work thru 5 IP’ed with 0 ER’s allowed.
July 25, 2025 at 7:31 pm #288314Sorry to report the attempt to eat only 1/2 pint of the Ben and Jerrys was a failure.
July 25, 2025 at 7:33 pm #288315If Matz wasn’t up you get him up now.
3-0 with no ER for Miles is a gift from the baseball gods. Don’t ruin it Oli!
July 25, 2025 at 7:37 pm #288316Tatis hasn’t come close to placing the sort of numbers on the board that he did the year before he got caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar. In fact, Alec Burleson’s HR and RBI totals are just as good or a little better than those of Tatis for the last two seasons. Go figure.
July 25, 2025 at 7:46 pm #288317I’ve been packing in the Edy’s French Vanilla slathered up with Hershey’s syrup, KCB. It was on sale a couple of weeks ago for $4.99 a carton. The normal price at the Dierberg’s we go to is $6.99, so I made a couple of trips with the front end loader…In any case, I’ll attack ice cream any time of the year, but this hot weather places me in a genuine ice cream stupor…Haha!

jj-cf-stlParticipantThis isn’t new for Pozo/Mikolas. They should be around 40 IP with a low 3’s era this season.
July 25, 2025 at 7:59 pm #288320The Padre’s uniforms have never been what I would expect to seen displayed by a fashion plate and tonight’s rendition won’t do anything to change my point of view. They look like they sorely need to be laundered… And I’ve always taken a bit of an issue with the camo versions. Not because of the way they look, but only because when you can’t see a player clearly on the field of play, it creates a genuine safety hazard.

jj-cf-stlParticipant8 GS, 40.1 IP, 3.14 ERA thru tonight
July 25, 2025 at 8:14 pm #288324Odd game. Padres with 9 hits, no runs. Cardinals with 3 hits, 3 runs.
July 25, 2025 at 8:17 pm #288326Have the Cardinals worn those hats before? Looks like they have the HOF logo on the side.
July 25, 2025 at 8:26 pm #288331Matz, Leahy, Curtis Taylor, Aaron Wilkerson
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised, forsch.

jj-cf-stlParticipantWe look good at home again.
July 25, 2025 at 8:39 pm #288335Well a nice win. Maybe Helsley’s last Cardinal save. He won’t pitch tomorrow, and will likely be moved sometime next week.
I look for Helsley and Matz to be gone for sure. Maton and Romero, and perhaps Burleson are possibles. Less likely that I think the club would move on from if they could get a decent deal done are Mikolas, Arenado, Contreras and Gray.
July 25, 2025 at 8:51 pm #288336Well that was fun. A win, a dustup. What more do you want on a friday night?
July 25, 2025 at 9:25 pm #288341Did Mikolas and the Cards get right tonight? Lol
July 25, 2025 at 9:33 pm #288342I think Pozo is the DC (designated catcher) for Mikolas for the rest of the year or until Mikolas is gone, whichever comes first.
July 25, 2025 at 9:43 pm #288345If Mikolas could keep us in the game for 2 out of every 3 starts for the rest of the year, I have no problem keeping him. I’m not real hopeful that will happen, though.
July 25, 2025 at 10:03 pm #288346They should leave Pozo in there and see what happens. They already know what Pages brings and its nothing to write home about.
July 25, 2025 at 10:13 pm #2883481.5 back for the last NL wildcard spot….when I saw that I did a double take
July 25, 2025 at 10:21 pm #288349Mikolas scattered 7 hits over his 5 innings of work and somehow managed to avoid surrendering the hit that would prove to sink his turn. He was also helped by the unorthodox DP in 4th inning, but I thought the key to his survival was that he didn’t walk anyone. At any rate, I’m happy he was able to pitch well enough to get a W for himself and the team, but I’m nowhere near ready to declare his resurrection.
July 25, 2025 at 10:57 pm #288350I’d like to see this lineup at least 1 time this year
Donavan……………….3B
Weatherholt…..2B
Herrera……………..DH
Contreras………..1B
Burleson…………..OF
Winn……………………….SS
Nootbar……………..OF
Pozo……………………..C
Scott…………………..CF -
