Obstruction call to advance Carp and the other two runners. Why the heck wasn’t Carp tagging though? I guess maybe Muncy’s obstruction messed that up?

The Dodger announcers first said obstruction then balk. They don’t seem to know.

I guess they did call it a balk.

If we blow this 3 run 7th inning lead and lose this game, then it’s a definite loss tomorrow. But let’s not think negatively here……believe it or not, our boys could end up winning our division by 10 games.

These Dodgers just keep coming. One run allowed vs their top of the order seems like a victory.

Yes, I had it wrong because of what the Dodger’s announcers were saying. They just clarified that it was a balk. And then on the replay they showed a different angle, which showed Carp wasn’t tagging and that made no sense to me. I suppose Carp heard the balk call and knew he could walk home. Without knowledge of the balk call, it made Carp look like he made a big blunder by not tagging.

Rain still coming down. Back in the good ole’ days, I’d be doing a rain dance right about now in hopes of getting the game called, thus clinching the Cardinal victory. They’ve had so many changes over the years in regards to rain shortened games. Anyone know the current rules and regulations of weather disturbed games?

That sounded good off Carps bat.

That would have been a HR in warmer weather. Solid contact.

Hold from the setup role. Atta-boy Kittredge, no drama

One…..maybe two insurance runs here in the top of the 9th would be jim-dandy.

Very hurtful top of the 9th, as we go down 1-2-3 via the K route.

Helsley will earn his paycheck this inning. Lux, Betts, and Ohtani. Freeman if anyone gets on.

Betts belts one……thank God it’s a solo shot. We’re only 3 games into the season, but it’s a good bet that Betts wins this year’s NL MVP……and with the way he’s hitting, he may very well be the first player in the history of this great game to win both the NL & AL MVP…..in the same season.

Oh oh……5-4 Cards in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out and runners at 1st & 2nd. Let’s stay with the action shall we?

Muncy – Pokes a soft single to center and this game is tied at 5. Dodgers now occupying the 1st and 3rd base bags…..shucks!

Muncy motors down to 2nd base, but he won’t be credited a stolen base as his significance in this inning carries about as much weight as myself, munching on Fritos and milk in my easy chair right now

Hernandez – Strikes out looking and we’re going into extras.

Scott scores on the Goldy ground out. 2 out now and nobody on base in a 6-5 St. Louis ballgame.

Gorman lines a base hit to center.

Arenado smokes a base hit past 3rd and Gorman races around to 3rd….what? E-5? No way……Arenado got robbed…..not by a fielder, but rather the official scorer.

Pitching change: Evan Phillips the new Dodger hurler.

Carpenter strikes out swinging to extinguish the Redbird threat.

Blown lead late innings. Looks like last year. Got the tally in the tenth, so good so far.
