April 26, 2022 at 1:31 pm #183486Thompson finished 6-2/3 with one walk, one bit and 9 punchouts. That’s an encouraging start.
In other news, Gorman finally had an extra base hit that wasn’t a home run.
April 26, 2022 at 7:08 pm #183501Going into tonjght Peoria had 11/14 pitchers with at least a K per inning pitched. The 3 that didnt had 6 k’s in 6.1 IP, 3 k’s in 3.2 IP and 6 k’s in 6.2 IP. Love leads the way with an impressive 20 k’s in Just 14 IP
April 26, 2022 at 7:53 pm #183527Gotta think Gomez will be getting the promo to AAA soon. What a start for him!
I know we’ve seen this before from a non-prospect. But he’s 23 so one can hope!!
April 26, 2022 at 8:01 pm #183534For reference, Juan Yepez was 23 last season when he followed the same path.
April 26, 2022 at 8:27 pm #183546Boy has McGreevy been good. He gave up a homer tonight but otherwise had a great outing…6 innings, 4 hits, 0 walks, 9 Ks. He sort of reminds of a Wacha or Weaver with how well he’s taking to his craft and dominating the mid levels of the minors. Hopefully his health and stuff fare better than those two.
April 27, 2022 at 6:11 am #183606The St. Louis Cardinals system was 4-0 on Tuesday, with two shutouts and a 20-2 scoring edge. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Memphis starter Zack Thompson, who pitched 6 2/3 scoreless with nine punchouts. Teammate Ben DeLuzio went deep twice and made a gem in the outfield.

April 27, 2022 at 6:21 am #183608Great day for the minors teams yesterday, and gold pitching going again today means a solid chance for another winning ledger. It’d be nice to see some win streaks.
April 27, 2022 at 7:25 pm #183664Graceffo with another great start today. 5 2/3, 1 run allowed, 9 Ks. He and Mcgreevy are looking at promotions soon, which will help the Springfield starting staff. Leahy Oviedo, and Zeuch sure look vulnerable to a move to the bullpen.
April 27, 2022 at 7:55 pm #183666Noot leading off 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, Gordon 2 HRs. Game not over.
April 27, 2022 at 8:28 pm #183667Gorman now 4-5 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs, and just missed a third dinger. I’m not sure what else the kid has to do to get a promotion. Yes, we know he will struggle at first. He always does. But it feels like we are wasting his hot streak in Memphis.
Also, Yepez and Burleson hit their 6th HRs individually.
April 28, 2022 at 6:56 am #183681The #stlcards system was 2-2 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, 2B Nolan Gorman, went 4-for-5 including two home runs with four RBI in Memphis’ win. Gordon Graceffo and Tommy Jew powered Peoria’s victory. April 28, 2022 at 7:35 am #183684Memphis and Springfield hitters are looking at the starters and realize they need to put up a ten spot tonight.
April 28, 2022 at 8:02 pm #183769Rodriguez and Baker pitched very well for Peoria and Palm Beach respectively.
Rodriguez 6 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 bb, 8 Ks
Baker 7 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, no walks, and 8 Ks.Palm Beach won 8-1, Peoria is losing 1-nil.
April 28, 2022 at 9:43 pm #183788Leahy actually pitched a good game. Zeuch did not, and he should be moved out of the rotation.
April 29, 2022 at 7:27 am #183808The #stlcards system went 1-3 on Thursday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Palm Beach RHS Trent Baker, who went seven scoreless and struck out eight for his first career victory. Other standouts include Dionys Rodriguez and Tyler Pike. (free) https://t.co/5ckzZE8IA1 pic.twitter.com/HXpLaT9lvz

April 29, 2022 at 8:01 am #183813Should be a fair number of strikeouts by our starters tonight. It’s good to see the pitching getting its footing in the minors this year.
April 29, 2022 at 9:04 am #183822I wondering if Pike wouldn’t make a good loogy? He allowed a .310 average versus right handed hitters, while holding lefties to around .250 and a much higher K percentage. He has a nice curveball.
April 29, 2022 at 9:11 am #183823It’s all but a certainty we will several of our top prospects to the majors, which is a good thing of course, and it’s very nice to see the new guys step right into those spots with how well things are going for them – specifically Winn, McGreevy, and Graceffo all look like top 100 players for next year, along with Walker.
April 29, 2022 at 7:23 pm #183880Libby 7 IP, 3 H, 3 walks, 7 Ks. He’s thrown 82 pitches so we will see if he comes back for the 8th. The rest of the pitching in the system has been pretty poor so far tonight.
April 30, 2022 at 6:27 am #183930The #stlcards system was 3-1 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is our no. 3 prospect Matthew Liberatore, with 7 Ks in 7 scoreless innings in Memphis’ road win. Other standouts include Domingo Robles, Pedro Pages and Mack Chambers. (free) https://t.co/u7k1uwfKUS pic.twitter.com/B0ozg2tKWC
