As long as this is apparently a topic for debate, the above site claims Dan is worth 5 million bucks. And yet another site pegged his annual salary at $400,000, rather than $69,000 and change.
Anyway, I bear him no malice, or anything else. He’s a grown man and everything that’s happened to him is of his own making. As I’m sure he would concede.
Well, so….who do we get to replace him? Thom Brennaman, perhaps? Has he served his sentence for the one comment he made?
I believe the article said no replacement has been named yet?

That’s a shame but I guess not totally unexpected in today’s ‘climate’.
His contract language is likely really tight regarding issues like this and most states have ‘at will’ employment laws any way.

I have nothing against McLaughlin. He made his choices in life, now he’s living with them. I just don’t think he’s a very good announcer. He’s supposed to be a play-by-play man but he pays very little attention to what’s happening on the field in favor of babbling nonsense with his gasbag sidekick.
Please Lord, don’t stick us with the sidekick!

hey can we step back a second and be pragmatic here.
1. you don’t need to drive to live in the usa, majority of people in nyc can’t and don’t want to drive
2. he is a pretty good guy to have with you watching the game.
3. Bally Sports / the current state of trying to stream baseball games while living in the area is a huge issue, if I buy mlb tv or bally sports+ streaming, I still can’t watch games. I am forced to buy a subscription from spectrum so I can consume all the auto dealership ads they already sold, I could buy direct tv or fubo but those are just interfaces on top of the spectrum package essentially (all $75 a month roughly, in english.. ).4. I personally think the state of streaming will kill off potential future fans and this along with bs treatment of people like dan are practical reasons; that the future of people being interested in mlb is seriously about to be screwed soon.
