My granddaughter said Burleson has funny hair. Should we have a ‘Burleson Has Funny Hair’ thread?
Is your granddaughter a card-carrying member of the “anti-Burleson crowd” that allegedly is attempting to “undermine” both Burleson and Shady?
I recognized Burleson’s talent way before 90% of other posters on some popular Cardinals message boards. Some were nasty because I supported Burly though the stats didn’t show it. Many are still in denial of his success. Some making chide remarks still. Strange behavior. Just enjoy what I projected a long tome ago. Cheers!

Please ask her to avoid any “chide remarks” [sic] that might “undermine” Burleson (and apparently, by extension, Shady) . . .
Suggesting a “All Things Burly” thread. Clearly I am not senior enough here to just do that, but isn’t a all-inclusive “Burly” thread appropriate for the future face and hope of the MLB?
Brian was forced to close down such a thread due to persistent violation of the rules by certain participants.
Not sure if this thread’s even relevant anymore since Alec has really rebounded and picked up the pace in June. He’s recently generated the sort of power that was missing earlier in the season to the tune of ripping 4 HR’s in his last 9 games. Maybe we should start a thread entitled, “The Burly-Meter”…Then we can more accurately track his tremendous achievements along with his dismal downturns…Haha!
I’d also like a photo-montage, personal interest stuff: his diet, movie reviews, workout routine, his rap music influences, etc.
I know I am not the only one.
If somebody has access to a recent trade value chart, please tell me Nootbaar’s, Carlson’s and Burleson’s current trade values. TIA.
Many stats can easily be found by using the freely available “Google” and “Bing” search functions. Astute posters can often “self check” their own impressions or eye-tests against FACTS.
Hard to teach an old dog new tricks but improvement, even incremental is possible.
The BTV site’s values are now behind a paywall and not available to non subscribers no matter how astute at using search engines.
Correct, BTV is behind a paywall now. They have different tiers but I ponied up the minimum to at least see the player values.

Can’t afford to have that sort of production from our #2 hitter.
Last 15 games he’s hitting .194 with a .242 OBP.
He’s a competent #2 hitter on a bad team. On a good team he hits 7th or 8th.
