I agree Brian. Great to see Graceffo make this list and awesome to see how high they valued Walker. I still think they are missing Burleson. What more could Alec have done at the highest MiLB level? You would think best AAA hitter would be a near automatic lock unless the guy is 27 or more. At least automatic to be somewhere in the top 100 prospects.
Graceffo has a big advantage over guys like Liberatore in that he hasn’t yet had to try getting AAA batters out, much less MLB batters. Right now he’s dripping with hype. At least I hope that’s what it is.
I don’t know what holds Burleson back in national rankings. It must be the deep analytics. He should get plenty of PAs early on I think. The reason being Mo mentioned wanting a LH bat and then didn’t get one.
I’ve no idea how they rank these guys, but Burleson had 53 PA’s with the Cardinals last season in which he hit .188 while collecting 9 hits of which were all singles with the exception of a double and a solitary HR which he hit while he was facing a position player. If they base any portion of the criteria for these rankings on performance vs. Big League pitching maybe that’s what’s holding him back?
Burleson is likely being held back by the defensive limitations he has. The bat certainly looks good, but if he’s a DH, how good is it going to be?
Not that I think he’s a DH for sure (I think he can play corner OF), but I think that’s some of the national view of him.
I guess it will depend on whether Gorman or Burleson does the best in ST. Like I said elsewhere, I don’t think we will start out the season with an end of the bench guy who seldom plays. A guy could play himself on to the bench of course.

P.S. From last year to this, Winn slipped 23 places, Hence fell 11 spots and Graceffo dropped off completely. (Walker graduated.)
Context matters…
BP also posted their new Cardinals top 10 the other day. I give them credit for the guys being in the same order as in their national top 101.
This isn’t the first time they put an off-the-wall guy in at no. 10. I think they might do it to stir the pot. (I will eat a major slice of humble pie if he becomes the next Albert from round 13.)

He had a good start, but 1B only and not necessarily young for his level. It seems like a really odd pick over Graceffo/McGreevey/Robberse/Rajcic/Bernal. I really can’t understand how they can print that as their number 10! He was a 13th round pick this season, is 23, and only played at Low A. Crazy.
I have Honeyman in the same box as Roby. Has some talent but it is not likely to matter due to inability to hold up physically.
