Thanks J. I’m not sure how Maniscalco isn’t a ‘not enough data’, but to each his own.
October 29, 2026 at 7:01 pm #322047I really like Hernandez and Dos Santos patience. They couod walk 100 times each on a full season club. And looking up a Condon and Ragsdale have top of the line speed according to BA.

More advanced pitchers will be over the plate more.
Speaking of that, I wish there was some indication that Odle was getting the walks under control, but there isn’t. As of now, its disqualifying IMO. 7.0 BB/9 over 15 starts at Peoria. Yikes. Scanning the game log, there wasn’t any improvement as he went along. I can’t even imagine what it would be like vs AA hitters. Next year is his 5th in the system, so if he is going to get it dialed in, he better git movin.
October 30, 2026 at 6:20 am #322051Yeah Bling, I almost added a disclaimer on Manicalco because we haven’t seen him. But every blurb I read about him mentions elite defense so I’m assuming he will start at the good level.

I’ve got Odle down as a reliever and a very good one. Occasionally I get a fancy that he’ll find the magic formula to stick as a starter, but then I remember that I feel more confident in about 7 or 8 guys to manage that gauntlet better and how I think he’ll crush it as a reliever. He could well be the closer in 2-3 years, with Santana as the elite setup guy.
October 30, 2026 at 7:28 am #322053#13 Mason Molina
#14 Miguel HernandezI think there is a really exciting group of Padilla, Dos Santos, Hernandez, Frias that have upside. Out of the group, I am the highest in Padilla but casting my vote for Hernandez. I think all are so close in this range but I have Frias at the bottom of the group. In reality, Condon is my 5th member of the group but he has been selected already.
October 30, 2026 at 8:47 am #322072Odle has to throw strikes whatever his role. I have him well down my list because i think advanced batters will just wait him out. I think that is what happened when he moved up to A+. Alot of hot young arms are derailed the same way.
October 30, 2026 at 9:33 am #322076I feel like Bling and I have been too similar on thoughts this voting cycle. Odle scares me looking at him as he can’t throw strikes. The stuff is exciting, but I think I have learned from mistakes last year on Lin that if a guy can’t throw strikes and is walking 17% of batter his path is a really difficult one. I will be rating Odle as a RP only prospect with late inning upside but even as a RP a lot of risk.

stlcard25ParticipantIt’s looking like I will have a full repeat vote for next round, so I’ll add my comments on a couple of guys that are very likely going to be the choices…
Sebastian Dos Santos (my #15), SS/2B 45/65, Risk High
Young Sebastian, just 18, makes for an interesting case. On one hand, I have him as a high risk prospect, as he’s so young and just made his stateside debut this year. On the other hand, he had tremendous success, looking way of out of place early on in the FCL before settling down a bit and playing good baseball, which earned him a promotion to the Florida State League for a nice stretch. While there, he seemed to take advantage of his approach as much as anything running a walk rate of 17.3%, leading to a .400 OBP despite a .246 batting average. He also had a good amount of over the wall power, which is tough to do in the FSL, popping 10 HRs in 255 plate appearances. While being young and making it to full season ball is maybe not as rare as it once was, Dos Santos still never got to step into the box against a pitcher younger than he was. His switch hitting swing is exciting to prospect evaluators, although he looked to be better from the left hand side this year. He played three different positions (2B, SS, 3B), with the most innings at shortstop. He committed 7 errors at Palm Beach in his 290ish innings there, which isn’t unusual for a young player. He stole 28 bases this year, which portends at least an average runner out there. The question is…how will he fare once he moves up a level? Is he a shortstop long term? It appears that the bat should play, but the position will tell what sort of value we can expect here. Still, along with Condon and upcoming picks Frias, Hernandez and Luna, the Cards have quite a number of 18 year olds who have the sort of potential that has already started to see results that fans and scouts will drool over. We will see who starts at Palm Beach vs Peoria next year.
Tekoah Roby (my #19), RHP, 45/50, Risk Medium
Tekoah, who came over in the Jordan Montgomery trade what feels like an eternity ago, is still plugging away in the minors. The arm talent has never been a question. When he’s healthy, he gets strikeouts, doesn’t walk a ton of batters, and looks like a future mid rotation talent. We saw that on display for the first half of the 2025 season, where he pitched great in Springfield and was just getting his footing at Memphis before succumbing to the dreaded Tommy John. He’s back now and crushing it in the Arizona Fall League, which is pretty much what an advanced prospect should do against A ball and fringy A+/AA sort of hitters at this point. Roby has a solid fastball and his slider and curve are both possible plus pitches. He has a change as well, so the repertoire is certainly that of a starter. But the cap on his ceiling and the drag on his ranking for me is the injury history. Shoulder injuries in 2023 and 2024 indicate an arm that may just not be able to handle 100 pitches every 5-6 days. The nice thing is that he could probably go the Trevor Rosenthal route, which is where I expect him to end up. His 97+ mph FB and other three pitches could make him an ideal late inning guy, with the mental side being the only real unknown. Still, this is about as high as I can go for a guy coming off a missed year and other arm troubles (see Clarke and Henderson coming up later).

stlcard25Participant15. Sandro Santana
16. Mason Molina
Both will probably debut with St Louis next year and both have the opportunity to be contributors for the next several years. That’s a better value than an A ball guy who, while young, has a long gauntlet ahead to even make it to St Louis, let alone maintain results.

I’m at the point I prayed I wouldn’t arrive – I have to Frias and Ragsdale. I guess I will side with most national pundits and rank Frias higher
#16 FriasOctober 30, 2026 at 12:33 pm #322084#15 ~ Kuhns

cardsfan64Participant#15 – Alexander Frias
#16 – Josiah RagsdaleOctober 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm #322088Nice to get SDS off the board and open up the voting a bit for those who have been voting for him for a while. I expect a lot of those votes will go for Miguel Hernandez now, he’s close for me but isn’t quite my selection here. By the end of the last round of voting I was regretting picking Frias above Roby in a very close decision, with that being said, Frias is still my pick here with Roby now off the board. I love a lot of these prospects, so it’s hard to rank a guy who has not yet debuted at any level, but I liked Tegan Kuhns at Tennessee and as a draft prospect, and it’s about time for a first round pick to come off the board. I like that Mason Molina is getting some love, but I struggle with his upside projection a bit and opted to stick with the 2026 1st rounder.
#15 – Alexander Frias
#16 – Tegan KuhnsOctober 30, 2026 at 1:48 pm #322089PadsFS
Participant#15 – Alexander Frias
#16 – Miguel HernandezI don’t really like Kuhns in front of some of these other players yet. I really want to vote for Emanuel Luna too. We have only had a couple high-dollar Int’l signees over the last 10+ years ~ basically Mejia at $2M in 2022, until you get back to Adolis Garcia ($2.5M) and Machado ($2.3M) in 2016, although they were Cuban. The other closest one was Wagner Mateo back in 2009.
October 30, 2026 at 1:59 pm #32209015 Ragsdale
16 FriasOctober 30, 2026 at 2:18 pm #32209215. Miguel Hernandez
16. Sandro SantanaJust a quick reminder. Hernandez was 17 years old for the first two months of the season, and finished the year dominating the Florida State League. Even over a small sample, that’s highly unusual in the best possible way.
October 30, 2026 at 2:18 pm #322093Here is my problem with Kuhns this high – to be ranked this high I would expect his AA/AAA seasons to be at the level of what Molina and Eagan put up this year. Expecting more would be excessive. Yet Molina and Eagan have actually produced those types of seasons. So why would Kuhns rank higher?
October 30, 2026 at 2:33 pm #322095So why would Kuhns rank higher?
He’s a first round pick in the most recent draft. I am impressed by his abnormally low walk rate and have seen it said in a scouting report he needs to learn to be over the plate less. I also really like what video there is, which is just FB i think. Haven’t seen the 12-6 uncle charlie, but its 60 grade, supposedly. I think he will be a fast mover. Top 20 seems reasonable.
October 30, 2026 at 3:41 pm #32209915- Ragsdale
16- FriasI am a huge Mason Molina fan but I am sticking to my order.
October 30, 2026 at 3:58 pm #32210015.Hernandez
16. ManiscalsoSantana is impressive as a reliever, but I’m not quite ready to have him in front of these high upside position players who are much riskier.
October 30, 2026 at 6:44 pm #32210215. Miguel Hernandez
16. KuhnsAfter Raniel, I think Miguel has the next best chance of our position player prospects to be a superstar. Tons of walks. Tons of doubles. Great batting average. Solid defense that could end up a plus. Good speed.
I don’t know as much about Kuhns. He starts with a great fastball and has a good shot to repeat what we saw out of Doyle this year. I could have picked Molina or Manicalco here. But I’m going with Kuhns for upside.
October 30, 2026 at 8:13 pm #322106Very refreshing seeing our voters getting off the proverbial schneid and tabbing Sebastian Alessandro Dos Santos. Who to pick at 15 & 16? I have 9……count them……9 prospects vying for these slots. Looks like ol’ Pugs will be burning the midnight oil tonight trying to wittle it down from 9 to 2.
