Bling, I agree on Leahy. Not sure he’s ready for the show yet until he controls better.

The fact that the Cards even call up a guy who WHIPed 1.600 in AAA and AA says a lot, and not anything good.

Good job by JoJo to close out the 8th.

Taking a gander at the out-of-town scoreboard:

The Reds lost their 4th straight game today, all to Milwaukee. 4-3 Brewers the final at Riverfront Stadium. Are the Reds about to hit the skids?

The Red Sox all over the Cubs at Wrigley. 11-5 the final.

The Giants sweep the Pirates. 8-4 your final today at Three Rivers Stadium.

I have liked what I have seen out of Jo Jo Romero lately. He doesn’t mess around.

Which means Mo will let him walk this winter.

JoJo is cheap, he’s more likely a rotation candidate.

Mikey likey Jo Jo too, Scotty. That was a trade that worked out well for both our Cards and Philly, as Edmundo has performed admirably in the City of Brotherly Love. And when this occurs, look for another transaction between the two clubs in short order. I see Flaherty going to either the Dodgers or Diamondbacks later this month and Monty going to either Philly or Toronto. I know Baltimore would love being on the receiving end of a Montgomery trade, but a few other clubs have more of what we’re looking for. For a team looking for a young quality left handed bat, with great potential, Baltimore is loaded to the gills with them, but that of course is not this team’s great need. You know what team I think would be a great trading partner for us? Cincinnati. If both of these teams could find their way to pulling the trigger, I could see a blockbuster deal between St. Louis and Cincinnati that would be dynamite for both parties. But now if we win say 9 out of our next 10, that could very put the kabosh on any possible trades.

I did not like seeing us deal Sosa, and thought he should have played over Paul “The Contract” DeJong. But JoJo has done okay.

Should get interesting around the league in the next couple of weeks. The Dodgers and Giants are beginning to assert themselves in the NLW with the DBacks fading a bit. The Brewers look like they’re ready to take control in the NLC, and how ’bout them O’s? They’ve now won 8 in a row and are only 1 game back and nipping at the heels of the Rays in the ALE. The Astros are still 3.5 in back of Texas, but I expect them to go on a nice run of W’s and pass the Rangers as if they were backing up at some point. And oh…the Redbirds displayed their supremecy and unquestionably showed DC who’s boss this weekend…They really put the proverbial hammer on those Nats and have now won 2 in a row!
