Wow – missed the first inning. Brought up the game in the bottom of the second, and this Williams guy mowed us down; three up, three Ks. Not even a foul ball – no one touched his pitches. An immaculate inning of sorts.
For whomever is interested, Trent Baker has a no-no through 5 innings tonight for Peoria and the Memphis Redbirds plated 8 runs in the first inning including a 3-run homer by Wynn.
You’re not supposed to mention a no-no until there’s only one out remaining until the feat is accomplished and Jerry Joyce is situated as the 1B umpire…
Well, he now has one through 6 innings. Sorry for the faux pas there 1TD but now that the cat is out of the bag I’ll keep him meowing.
Coming down pretty good. We had one of those quick sudden downpours the other day. I was in a grocery store and just finished up at checkout. I looked out the glass doors and decided to wait it out before walking to the my vehicle. After less than 2 minutes it had all but quit and I figured I got lucky and happily walked out the door and strolled to the truck. On the way across the parking lot a powerful bolt of lightning exploded out of the sky at what seemed like an altitude of less than 100 ft…I haven’t committed even a slight transgression ever since…Haha!
Peoria winds up giving up 1 hit (a home run) while getting 10 hits themselves. Yet it is a 1-1 tie going into the bottom of the 9th. Such a weird game.
Hoping the majors team can start back up soon. Mikolas looked good.
Yeah, that’s an odd looking line-score, Jnevel. Those 10 Peoria base hits must really be scattered around.
On a good note, let’s take a gander at the out-of-town scoreboard.
The Brewers down the Reds 1-0 for the 2nd game in a row. They are now tied atop the NL Central.
The Giants win over the Pirates 6-4 at Three Rivers Stadium.
And the Red Sox are up on the Cubs 5-3 at Wrigley in the 5th.
Just got home. What in the world is going on? 3 unearned runs against. Multiple fielding errors. Wild pitch. Steal of home against. Did we call up Moe, Larry and Curly?
Here in the tenth things look to be going south. Hicks throwing 100 MPH batting practice.
I’m trying to be in Contreras’s corner at east somewhat, but man, he stinks.
Goldy can’t even get the man home from 3rd with 1 out. Seems like he’s been RBI chalenged this year.
But he swats flies and that’s the game. Reading the play by play, we just plain gave it away. Welcome to the second half.
