They tried to give us something with the HBP and walk putting two on and nobody out in the second.
July 6, 2023 at 6:16 pm #226970Liberatore lacks command of his primary pitches. He has them, but can’t spot them.
Which is why he needs to pitch on a regular basis. The brass feels he is better off doing that at Memphis, even though it is not like it will harm the big club’s chances at a post season berth if he were to work at the top level.
Don’t think this Leahy guy is planned as being a part of the club’s future, but what the heck. Nice for him and his family to get time in the bigs and experience some nice paydays on the 1st and 15th.
July 6, 2023 at 6:18 pm #226971Maybe Flaherty won’t suck tonight. So far so good.
July 6, 2023 at 6:20 pm #226972They probably just swapped Libby out for a fresh arm. I figure he will be back after the AS break.
July 6, 2023 at 6:22 pm #226973Yeah, good for him. It’s also my understanding that one day on a Big League roster qualifies for lifetime medical coverage and 43 days qualifies for a minimun pension. Not too shabby. Took me 32 years…Haha!

jj-cf-stlParticipantNice having a 3B arm at 2B to turn DP’s.
Jack has the 2seamer tonight. Last start it ran a foot and he had no command of it.
July 6, 2023 at 6:32 pm #226975Yeah, that was by no means an easy opportunity to turn 2.

jj-cf-stlParticipantPerez has the goods. Hunt for a mistake.
July 6, 2023 at 6:46 pm #226977
jj-cf-stlParticipantJack has 3 pitches working and a low pitch count.
July 6, 2023 at 6:58 pm #226979Oli is certainly not 100% to blame for this year’s performance, but unfortunately for him, the skipper takes the hit at times like these. He’d also take the credit if they were having a bang-up year. But does make me wonder how he’d look as a manager if he had a stellar rotation and bullpen. Would we still be saying he needs to go? To be honest, probably not, but that tells me that last year when the rotation was marginally better, Pujols, Molina, Maddux filled in the leadership gap. It’s when a team performs badly that the weaknesses become glaring.
July 6, 2023 at 6:59 pm #226980Carlsons been busy in center field tonight
Looking like a real outfielder. Now if he could get his BA up a bit…July 6, 2023 at 7:02 pm #226981Flaherty having a pretty good night. Good to see.
July 6, 2023 at 7:03 pm #226982
jj-cf-stlParticipantContreras getting slider happy. Lets break more bats w/the 2seamer.
July 6, 2023 at 7:04 pm #226983Check out Ollies resume and to me its just not there. If you don’t have the guy there then it only makes sense to hire in from outside the organization. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

jj-cf-stlParticipantClutch HR from Arenado
July 6, 2023 at 7:18 pm #226985Yeah, it was. You don’t see him tater-up for a HR to that portion of the ballpark too often.
July 6, 2023 at 7:20 pm #226986Nado Dinger! Tornado Nado!
July 6, 2023 at 7:24 pm #226987Flaherty doing well.
I still think they should trade him.
I don’t trust that his arm isn’t going to fall off at any moment.
July 6, 2023 at 7:28 pm #226991The Marlins are an astounding 21-5 in 1 run games this season. You’d almost think that the simple laws of average would dictate that they lose this game if it stays a 1 run difference. Almost…

jj-cf-stlParticipantHorrible strike 2 call on Burly
July 6, 2023 at 7:34 pm #226993Burly Ribbie scores Gorman! Burly can bunt too!
July 6, 2023 at 7:34 pm #226994Nice to put it in play from Burly after sitting at 0-2 to get the bleeder for the RBI base hit.
July 6, 2023 at 7:38 pm #226996Carlson didn’t pull the trigger on a meatball. Must be getting tired! Give him a gatorade!
July 6, 2023 at 7:40 pm #226997I’m still not accustomed to the ad patch on the shoulder sleeve. I think it was the Reds who have a Kroger patch. We don’t have those Kroger grocery stores in StL. anymore, but when I first saw that patch during one game, I got a little hungry. Hey…those things work!
July 6, 2023 at 7:46 pm #226998I just now noticed that the Marlins are 1-9 vs. the Braves this season. Skippy may be doing a nice job, but he’s gonna have to find a way to figure that one out.
