The fact that Arraez is flashing a .402 BA along with a .452 OBP this far into the season is impressive, but I couldn’t help but to notice that he’s scored 37 runs which is 2 runs less than our own Tommy Edman, who’s crossed HP 39 times this season. Arraez has scored almost all of those runs while hitting from the lead-off slot in the order, while Eddie’s crossed HP the majority of times while hitting from the 9 slot. I like lofty BA’s, lots of taters and gaudy RBI totals as well as the next guy, but the fact remains that runs continue to be the solitary determining factor that establish W/L records and I’m guessing they’ll remain that way unless the MLB bosses decide they need to change that rule in order to attract more young fans or to speed up the game…

I warned not to drink the water but nobody listens. Now they are all sick. That includes ice. No ice.

Waino is laying them in there today. He looks good.

How true of how much nicer and more efficiently things would be if Bling and Carter called the shots.

Happ a 2nd inning solo shot to center dents the London scoreboard for the first time in 2023.

Johnny looked like he snagged a pretty good field level box seat for this game as the camera panned over to show him sitting in the stands earlier in the broadcast. I wonder why he doesn’t sit in the field boxes at Busch Stadium.

    2-zip Cubbies.

    Too much sight-seeing?

Honestly, I don’t think it matters for this year anyway…so may as well enjoy the trip and not let baseball get in the way of a good time….

Walker shatters his bat at the handle…..the way that bat imploded, it sure makes one wonder if the wood here in England is as sturdy as our trees back home?

    Same old story so far.

Other team hits and scores run.

Cards can’t hit and don’t score.

    2-0 Cubs after two innings.

    Din din is about done.

Don’t forget to give WhiteyHerDog a nibble or two too, Rat. And Happ just hammers his second dinger on the early afternoon. Luckily, both have been solo shots. This is a game we can certainly Steele.

Waino fooling no one other than the London batboys here who only know about soccer……..5-0 cubs as we head to the bottom of the 3rd. Still plenty of time to get these chumps.

Wainwright is done. Finished. Kaput. Time to move on. Unless he has a 2nd half renaissance like Pujols did last year he may as well retire at the All Star Break. He’s not doing anybody any good.

This is a pitiful showing by the Redbirds so far.

Relax Rat, its the ol’ three inning start trick. Works every time. You’ll see.

It’s really surprising that the Cubs would travel all the way to London, just to take batting practice.

It seems like it should be around the 7th inning. We’re getting creamed early.

I just read where the Cardinals might consider calling up McGreevy. Not sure why they would do that since his stats from AA/AAA aren’t all that great. He has a 1.38 whip and opponents are hitting .281 against him.

And he’s our best pitching prospect???

Wow it’s not April 1st is it? You’d think they have abundant primo turf and clay in England. They imported tons and tons of the stuff from Canada and Pennsylvania just for this ballgame. That had to have cost a bundle. Not sure if this FOX broadcaster info is accurate?

Our cleanup hitter is in Yadier Molina territory with the bat. Waino harmed the team by coming back. This offseason couldn’t have gone much worse for the Cards if they purposely attempted it.

Seems like a lot of pitchers match and exceed their K totals vs our boys. Steele ties his most in a game(8) today……in only 6 innings. 7-1 cubs ad we venture on to inning #7.
