Just need a little something something here to take the series.

Long road back to .500 and to be fair I don’t think they will make it BUT they are welcome to try and at least make the rest of the season entertaining.

They’re not trying to do anything bling. It comes naturally.

The Mets only have a 60% win probability in the middle of the 8th. They don’t know us like we do.

Top of 8. Robertson on for NY.

Knizner – Flies out to Canha in left

Edman – Cranks a deep one to right!….Marte back to the wall and he’ll catch it just before running out of real estate……2 down.

Donovan – Hits a pop foul ball behind 3rd base….where Escobar makes a dandy catch to retire the Birds here in the 8th.

    Verhagen pitching the 8th.

He’ll pitch a perfect inning to keep this contest knotted at 7 heading to the 9th.

The Reds are up 6-5 in the 8th at Houston. If they hold on that’ll be 8 W’s in a row.

Top of 9. Our old acquaintance, Adam Ottavino, pitching for the Mets.

Goldy – Chases a high hard one and flies out to Marte in straightaway right.

Arenado – Throttles a jolt to deep left!…..and that rocket will exit the yard quicker than you can say “Bravo Nolan!” and the Birds have reclaimed the lead 8-7.

Gorman – Flies out to Canha in left.

Walker – Walks…..very encouraging, as that’s 2 free passes induced by the big guy today.

Carlson – Walker easily steals 2nd base. Dylan on 3-2 strikes out.

Indeed, amazing, TD. The Redlegs could very well find themselves sitting atop our division by day’s end.

Hicks on to close matters out ….I like our chances, CardinalInFrance.

Pressing our luck w/Hicks to close. Asking for two consecutive saves is risky.

Yeah, Pugs, and they were on the short end no less than 100 times last season.

Woohoo! Cardinals win! We’re 1-0 with Pugs doing the play-by-play this year!

Lol we lose the opening game of a series and end up taking the next 2. Hope we can win in our next game.

We may have a new closer.

You have to feel good for the lads with as scuffed as this season has been so far.

Whew, pulled that off with the DP! Nicely done. Now they need to string about 20 of those Ws together.

That winning PBP coverage was all for you, LACardFan. They’ll be plenty more where that came from by season’s end.

Pulled a 4 inning start out of the fire. That’s what I’m talking about. And all that even with our strategically placed cleanup non-hitter going 0fer. Who was that guy in the Hicks jersey? That was smokin stuff on the black.

Well, Pugs. We currently have an 8.5 game hole to make up.

Astros got a run in the 9th to tie the Reds 6-6. They also had the bases loaded with one out and a chance to win but a 5-4-3 killed the rally.

Then the Reds got three runs in the 10th and went on to win the game 9-7. Eight wins in a row for Cincinnati. They now have Colorado coming to Riverfront for a three game series. They may end up with eleven wins in a row later this week.

We really need to sweep the Nationals.

Cubs lost to Baltimore today 6-3.

Milwaukee scored a bunch in the 8th and beat Pittsburgh 5-2.

As I understand it, what happened to Hicks two days ago was the good fairy told him to close his eyes, click his heels together three times and she sprinkled him with control dust.

    Arenado was “clutch” today, twice!
