Watched the scoreless 1st inning of the College World Series before switching to this game. Already a crooked number. The big leaguers just make things happen faster than those college boys.
Don’t know why, but whenever I see the Mets wearing those black home jerseys I think of Jose Reyes. He was 3 or 4 seasons worth of Rickey Henderson type trouble for a while there. All kinds of headaches with that guy.
I think to get back on the winning track, we need one of those big come from behind victories. I think asking for 6 runs in 6 innings without giving up
Another run is asking way to much.We are witnessing the total collapse of a franchise.
This isn’t a torn down, gutted, rebuilding year roster. If you know it’s coming and buy into the process you can stomach the losing.
This team was supposed to win its division and quite frankly I think they have quit
There is no fight, no spirit, no nothing from this team. They are empty uniforms going through the motions and cashing their paychecks.
Based on the roster and the preseason expectation / prediction to win the division – why haven’t the firings started?
What else does DeWitt need to see?

No matter how “amazing” management thinks Marmol is, how long can this continue? I know he does not throw or hit, but man, you gotta change something. I guess management sees that as a panic move, which I can understand to a point. But 15 games under and losing 5-0 for a team projected to win the division is justified panic I would think. I mean, the building is burning down. Maybe some panic is in order!
Maybe a missed sign on a hit & run? Even if that’s the case, I’m not sure you want to put that play on down by 4 runs.
