jj-cf-stlParticipant“And more infielders in the outfield than outfielders.”
I still haven’t stopped laughing. Well done BB!
May 16, 2023 at 6:59 pm #220711C’mon Monty!!!! 27 pitch first inning isn’t what we needed.
May 16, 2023 at 7:00 pm #220712That was not at all a bad pitch to Adames for the RBI GR double. Sometimes you simply get beat. At any rate, a 1 run lead’s no sweat.
May 16, 2023 at 7:03 pm #220713Redbirds sure gave Miley some light duty to begin his workday.
May 16, 2023 at 7:07 pm #220714Got the out, but how can the HPU not ring up Anderson on that 0-2 pitch?
May 16, 2023 at 7:09 pm #220715After last night, the bats need a bit more turn around time, so expect some late innings fireworks.
May 16, 2023 at 7:13 pm #220716I know he’s at over 40 pitches and has allowed 2 doubles through 2, but somehow Montgomery looks pretty sharp tonight with the 5 K’s. Need to make Miley work this inning.
May 16, 2023 at 7:14 pm #220717Haha! That’s not making him work, but I’ll take the 1st pitch TATER!
May 16, 2023 at 7:22 pm #220718I thought Miley might’ve tweaked a grease fitting in his lower back, but I coudn’t see anything in the couple of replays they showed. Wonder what happened.
May 16, 2023 at 7:34 pm #220719They mentioned on the broadcast that Arenado’s now at 999 RBI’s for his career. That’s quite a few for a player that just turned 32. To put that in context, Goldy at about 100 days shy of 36 has collected 1065 RBI’s in his career. But to really put both of those RBI totals into context, neither one of them is even half way to the great Albert Pujols’ total of 2218 RBI’s…Haha!
May 16, 2023 at 7:37 pm #220720Peguero wanted no part of Goldschmidt. I don’t blame him. I’d take my chances with Contreras.
May 16, 2023 at 7:39 pm #220721I’m a little surprised they’re even working to Nado.
May 16, 2023 at 7:48 pm #220722Not too bad at 61 pitches through 4 full. Has a real good chance to work through 6 and wouldn’t be surprised to see him get through 7 innings. Need some runs.
May 16, 2023 at 7:49 pm #220723Another quiet crowd tonight in Redbird land…
May 16, 2023 at 7:51 pm #220724Atta boy, Eddie!
May 16, 2023 at 7:53 pm #220725Nice!…When Eddie gets on, Eddie scores!
May 16, 2023 at 7:55 pm #220726Donnie delivers the big 2 out RBI base hit. Need a shutdown 5th inning from Montgomery.
May 16, 2023 at 8:11 pm #220727Nice job to work around that mess.
May 16, 2023 at 8:18 pm #220728
jj-cf-stlParticipantDonovan going oppo is a very good sign, it’s what made his 2022 special.
May 16, 2023 at 8:21 pm #220729Good idea to send Contreras on the 0-2 with 2 outs pitch to Nado.
May 16, 2023 at 8:24 pm #220730I’ve noticed that with the new rules, baserunners seem to have become invisible to pitchers.
May 16, 2023 at 8:27 pm #220731Monty, ya chump, those balls aren’t cheap, keep it in the yard.
May 16, 2023 at 8:27 pm #220732Time to saunter out and get him.
May 16, 2023 at 8:33 pm #220734I’m not placing blame on Hicks, but this an illustration of why the Cardinals haven’t won many tight ballgames this season.
May 16, 2023 at 8:35 pm #220735I credit Knizner with escaping that inning and still only trailing by a run.
