Nootbaar rarely dives for any ball in the outfield. He could have possibly gotten that one if he tried. But it would have been a great play if he did.
All these Red Sox players seem to have cut one of the leggings off their girlfriend’s yoga pants and used them as an improvised arm sleeve…I’d be in big trouble if I tried something like that.
That was a lousy called 3rd strike to Donovan for the punchout. I hope Mikolas gets something along those lines.
Donovan gets more balls called strike 3 than anyone I’ve ever seen. I think that’s 6 or 7 times this year already. It’s uncanny that it keeps happening to the same guy with different umpires. That one was clearly ball 3.
We actually still have options on DeJong if we decide we still want him or we have to give him $2 million to leave. It would have been unthinkable to resign him a month ago. But now it’s at least a fleeting thought.
Fortunately, we get to decide on his option in October. If he happens to still be hitting like he is now, it’s a bargain. But that is a very doubtful IF.
