The one comment I keep reading on here that bothers me the most is the one “Maybe Flaherty will get back to his old self” STOP It! He is terrible!

I read the same thing all winter and spring regarding Matz.

Good old Noot is 4 for 5. He’s the greatest.

Lol. gscottar, so true! You see these bottom feeder teams and you realize their pitching is just awful and then one day you look in the mirror and see, it is us! So sad!

Why is Motter in, what happened to Gorman? I’m at work, missed something.

Might as well be Taylor Swift hitting out of the 3 slot. That’s how today’s nightmare finally comes to an end.

Too bad we don’t have a bat off the bench.

Evidently they didn’t like the matchup against a lefty. The data had to be saying this is the perfect spot to use Motter and you know Oli wanted to make Mo feel good about his latest free agent signing.

Gorman experiencing lower back tightness cited as the reason for the PH and appearance of Motter at 3B. Even if it’s the genuine reality, I don’t believe it.

Of all the debacles related to today’s game the Gorman-Motter switch is the biggest problem? Good grief.

At this point they can scrap the matchup crap with Gorman vs lefties, Carlson vs righties, etc. It has become the perfect season to invest in starting players futures. Lets quit pretending there is a better option on the bench.

Today’s game wasn’t what I’d term a debacle. Today’s game was what I’d term a microcosm. I’d also say that it has a good chance to be termed a peculiar sort of swansong in the very near future. The bait should have been cut a couple of weeks ago.

I agree jj. It is time to start thinking about 2024. We need to clear out some of the dead wood and see what we have with some of these younger guys, including some that are currently in Memphis.

I was just surprised that the Gorman-Motter switch due to an apparent injury concern was the deciding factor today in a game where our starter got pummeled into submission.

Just last night I heard the Redbird manager insist that this team would, “stay the course.” I was entirely mystified by that statement. Now, I completely understand what he meant.

    There’s no microcosms in baseball.

The Gorman-Motter sub was not the biggest problem in the game. It was just the latest that revealed itself from the never-ending list. I think it’s like FIFO queuing. Or latest occurring, latest discussed. More than one problem can be discussed.

Oli was just reading the script he was given. No philosophical differences.

Sometimes it’s just not your season. This team isn’t as bad as their record by any stretch, but at the same time, that doesn’t mean you keep doing the same thing forever in hopes that it’ll turn around.

Bling…He didn’t say much at all. The presser was by far the shortest I’ve seen this season. Less than 2 minutes with no more than 2 or 3 questions. What can he say, really?

I think next go round MLB should sit out the WBS, an awful lot of the players that participated are under performing in their REAL jobs!!!

    What a comment!

Jack, Jake and Jordan, Ryan didn’t play in the WBC. Willson, Carlson, Donovan didn’t play either among a couple others.

Oli and our new brain trust didn’t either. I think it’s clearly a mix of underperforming players and our coaching but you know where it all falls when it doesn’t go right.
