(and Bally Sports Southeast/Southwest Extra)April 22, 2023 at 11:24 pm #217402Last chance for romance in Seattle.
DeJong on the way. WTH are they gonna do with him in StL?
April 22, 2023 at 11:32 pm #217405He is going to play once or twice a week and receive $9.1M.
April 23, 2023 at 9:03 am #217417I’ll bet Marmol gives him a start or two immediately because he’s been hot in Memphis.
If he hits at all watch out for some upheaval….
April 23, 2023 at 12:30 pm #217431Today should be a win for the Cardinals. The odds are in their favor with Flaherty maybe on the rebound, facing a guy who doesn’t seem to be very good and the general difficulty in sweeping a series. If they lose today then it’s head scratching time.

Marmol will do whatever Mo tells him to do. The manager didn’t give PDJ the contract so he feels no obiligation to him but the front office is a different story.
April 23, 2023 at 12:44 pm #217434Yeah, Nathan, if they lose today they’ll be 6 games under .500 and in danger of falling 8 full games off the pace in the NLC. What’s a little interesting is that the Cardinals are only -6 in run differential which isn’t too awfully bad. SD’s -15 and only 1 game under .500 and AZ’s -2 and sits in 1st place in the NLW. At any rate, that relatively low run differential almost has to point to a team ending up on the short end of some close games which could certainly raise questions regarding strategic and tactical decisions.
April 23, 2023 at 12:49 pm #217435The Pirates go for 7 in a row today. I sure didn’t see that coming.

1TD, I know you will pop the champagne corks if/when Marmol is fired but do you really think they are going to hire an experienced manager that they can’t control? And will this new manager be able to suddenly give us a quality rotation?
April 23, 2023 at 1:24 pm #217441I bash PDJ as much as anybody, but man, I am hoping for a miracle. We need something and it doesn’t matter how unlikely of a place it comes from. Light em up Paulie.
April 23, 2023 at 1:24 pm #217442Cards667,
Excellent job with the Guaranteed K! I’ve said that for years. I am getting sick and tired of watching him strikeout most of the time. He’s on thin ice in St. Louis. Or at least he should be.Din din today is a ribeye steak in the air fryer, a couple ears of sweet corn, a near frozen/slushy Mt. Dew, and a piece of Cherry Pie from the Amish restaurant.

April 23, 2023 at 2:06 pm #217448I think he sends Mo daily shirtless pics to stay in the line up. Only way he’s still around.
April 23, 2023 at 2:17 pm #217449As 1td, I mean, Pugs would say……Let’s take a gander at the out-of-town scoreboard.
Pirates lead the Reds 1-0 in the top of the 7th at Forbes Field.
Boston leads Milwaukee 3-0 in the top of the 4th at County Stadium.
And the Dodgers and the Cubs are tied 2-2 in the top of the 4th at Wrigley.

April 23, 2023 at 2:51 pm #217450Donovan has talked about how he spent the winter working with a hitting guru using sensors and cameras and computers to optimize his swing. How did that work out?
2022: .277/.383/.380/.763. OPS+121.
2023: .254/.311/.388/.699. OPS+ 95..311 OBP is not acceptable for top of the order, and .388 SLG is not acceptable for middle of the order. So we got another down in the order hitter, which need like a hole in the head. Since he no longer serves any purpose offensively, I expect his play time to be cut back. If Paulie can hit .250ish with a .300 OBP they will be like peas in a pod. Great job Mr. Guru and whoever talked Donovan into it.
April 23, 2023 at 3:37 pm #217451Walker with the tootblan. Hate seeing stuff like that.
April 23, 2023 at 3:46 pm #217453
jj-cf-stlParticipantIf they hit it, it’s at or over the wall. Looks like BP.
April 23, 2023 at 3:51 pm #217455Jack will be lucky to get through 5.
April 23, 2023 at 3:52 pm #217456Don’t think we have to wait until Memorial Day this year to find out what kind of team the birds are. They stink all the way around.
April 23, 2023 at 3:52 pm #217457He might not get out the 2nd unless he makes a pitch here.
April 23, 2023 at 3:55 pm #217458
jj-cf-stlParticipantThey should tell the starters we need 6 IP, how that turns out for you is up to you.

April 23, 2023 at 3:56 pm #217460I saw a few sparks from Jack as he walked to the dugout after escaping the bases jammed. Hope it spreads. Someone on this team needs to light a fire.
April 23, 2023 at 4:05 pm #217461Looks like Jack is upset at someone else, instead of himself.
