Gorman needs to be moved up and Contreras moved down.

And what is with Motter? Either Marmol or someone upstairs must really like him. PDJ may not get his 26 man roster spot back even if owed $9.1M.

Oliver: Well, we’re 11 games into the season now, poor kid must be exhausted,

Regarding 11 games, if you have an extra dollar or two laying around, place it on Boston to beat Tampa who has yet to lose a game and is 11-0 to start the season. With 2 more wins, the Rays will tie the Big League record for W’s to start a season at 13 in a row which is shared by ATL in ’82 and MIL in ’87.

With another start in the line-up today, is anyone else looking for Motter to break out of the doldrums and generate some real nice offensive production in today’s game? You know, something like 4 for 5 with a couple of extra base hits, 3 or 4 RBI’s, and maybe a tater mixed in…No, you say? Me neither…

Torre, Gibby and Maxvill were manager/coaches for that ATL team.

They sure were. And Dale Murphy’s 1st of consecutive NL MVP awards. They barely hung on to eke out the Dodgers that season in the NLW, so that hot start effectively propelled them into the post-season. Brewers ended ’87 at 7 games back. At any rate, I’d sure trade places with Tampa at the moment.

How did that O’Neill home run look on television? That ball was crushed and a beautiful site to see live. One of the harder hit balls I have witnessed.

Reminds me of the way Andres Galarraga hit out here back in the ‘90s. That guy would absolutely crush the ball.

Arenado’s shot was nice as well. He always elicits a lot of applause out here obviously. Rockies fans still appreciate his contribution to the organization.

Jack with good command so far!

They gave you the lead Jack don’t start with the walks.

I don’t know if Contreras is normally a slow starter or if he is just pressing because he is trying to impress his new team but something isn’t clicking.

See Jack without the walk no run would have scored.

Flaherty has kept his pitch count down. We really need him to get 6 or 7 innings today.

Just tuned in to see Walker bungle a fairly routine shot to the track in front of the wall.

Brad Hand sure would be a nice pick up. I wonder if the Rox would deal with us?

We could have signed Hand over the winter. He was a free agent. He is only being paid $1.5M by the Rockies. The Cardinals passed on him.

Once again Stormin Gorman delivers! I tell you this guy is going to have a monster year.

When Gorman cools off, and he will, just play him. He is the LH power bat we’ve been needing.

I tell ya, I am real impressed with the progression of one Nolan Gorman. The kid looks like he will be a player. Makes me glad we did not pull the trigger on a deal for Soto.

stl25 deserves a hat tip regarding Gorman. He has stated numerous times that Gorman always settles in during his second year at each level and puts up big numbers. It happened all through the minors and is happening again.

He is quickly becoming my favorite Cardinal.

Checking back via the box score, it looks like Flaherty took a big step forward. It reads like a nice outing. Hitters have come to life. Don’t want to make too much of things since its the Rockies, but maybe.
