This game is shaping up to be just like Pugs predicted, a 4-3 Athletics victory.
If this was Reggie, Bando, and Catfish you could understand it. But this no-name group should not be playing this well against our “ace”.
Nice rbi dinger for Goldy-hes doing better now. O’Niel getting in the game stealing second. Nootys been overmatched twice now by this left handed pitcher. Needs to work on that I guess. Don’t have a good rh centerfielder for this game I guess?
Lucas Erceg your new Oakland A’s pitcher, as John Patrick Sears sits down after pitching a pretty darn fair ballgame. The only real hard hit ball off him being the Goldy 2 run 5th inning blow to left. 3-2 Birds entering the bottom of inning #6.
Nootys been overmatched twice now by this left handed pitcher.
That could be said by many a batter vs John Patrick Sears, Wooster. And many more to come. Sears is right on the brink of being a stopper……and I want him wearing red!
Oh oh, back-to-back singles plant A’s runners at 1st and 2nd with one out here in the top of the 7th and that will do it for Mikolas, who pitched a dandy here this evening. Miles can win it, and can also be saddled with the loss in this ballgame.

Haven’t seen him yet-watching on Gameday pitches only. Looks like everything he throws even changeup is low 80s and fastball is low 90s. Didn’t throw anything center-center. But we got the lead now and the new guys rh. Like for Baker to show some of that 3A power while hes up!
Well there goes the Mikolas “W” as Gelof doubles down the left field line and this game is knotted at 3-3. Now Gates Brown…..Seth Brown singles in 2 and Oakland sprints ahead 5-3. And now if our boys don’t come roaring back, Mikolas will accrue himself an undeserved “L”.
And this sums up most of our season. Bullpen is great when we’re down. Bullpen is terrible when we’re up.
Mikolas pitched a good game but his final line won’t look like it now.

Goldy walks and that’s precisely the first vital ingredient for staging a comeback…..and the Cards announcer must be following our game thread as he’s echoing those exact sentiments as we speak.
It’s pretty bad when you lose to the worst team in baseball on your home field with your best starter going.

With one out Felipe walks another (Knizner) and An-hell here appears to be a free pass issuing machine …..Mikey likey!
Oh boy this An-hell Felipe was a gift sent straight from heaven as he’s walked yet another batter(O’Neill), thus filling the Cardinal base paths with walkers……oh no the Oakland skipper is making a beeline straight for Mr. Felipe and unfortunately he’s getting yanked.
Francisco Perez the new Oakland reliever and he inherits a miserable dilemma compliments of one Angel “Walker” Felipe. Bases juiced for Nooty.
Oh my oh my Felipe and this Francisco fellow must be related as he promptly walks Nooty and it’s now a 5-4 ballgame with Baker strolling towards the dish.
Walker clears the bases with a 3 run triple and the Birds have themselves a 7-5 lead ……listen to the crowd…….
Yeah, Walker gets credited with a triple, though it may be changed…….but I still think it has a reasonable chance to not change. I’d like to see it again if they’d show it.
