Haha!…Went out and got him after 80 pitches because he didn’t want him to face Diaz 4 times. This guy says stuff that’ll make a baloney sandwich seem smart.
I’d say yeah, it’s blasphemy, but if the Cubs qualifying for the post-season means that it rubs some salt into the backsides of those that are responsible for the demise of my favorite team, then it’s a productive sort of blasphemy…
We managed 4 hits off Eflin in 7 IP, three by our young lefty bats; single, double, triple. Impressive vs his season splits.
The rest of the lineup went 2 for 21, two HR’s. We had a bunch of no-shows vs good pitching.
We have one of the most powerful lineups in MLB. They just have to be more consistent and stop the up and down stuff. Goldschmidt, Arenado, Gorman, Walker, O’Neill, Contreras, Nootbaar, etc. should be a minefield for opposing pitchers.
