Lets get the lead boys. I’m in no hurry to see the “when behind” relievers.

Top of 6. The bearded Buck Farmer the new reliever…. looking to doe the job for Cincinnati.

Nooty grounds out to 2nd base to open the Redbird 6th.

Romine dribbles a slow roller down the 3rd baseline…..Drury races in to grab it, but will have to eat that ground ball….. infield hit.

Edman strikes out swinging for the third consecutive time in this game…..you won’t see that very often, as Tommy is generally an igniter of rallies and not an extinguisher of them.

O’Neill grounds out to retire the side.

NYM acquire Vogelbach from PIT for a debut reliever. I like this for the bucs.

Waino walks the first two Reds he faces here in the 6th…..and with an even-Steven 100 pitches under his belt, Waino will exit this ball game. He cannot win this game, but certainly he can unfortunately lose it.

    Pitching change:

Jordan Hicks gets the call and Naquin promptly drills a 2 run triple. 7-4 Redlegs.

A Solano sac fly makes it 8-4 and Hicks was not a friend to Waino’s ERA, as the 2 runners Hicks inherited both scored and that’s 7 runs given up by Waino tonight…..all earned.

Just 8 runs allowed for 16 outs?

Nah, we don’t have a pitching problem.

Nooty with an un-Nooty-like throw sort of toward home plate and no carry at all.

Top of 7…. 25 year old Alexis Diaz center stage for the Reds.

    Goldy strikes out swinging.

Arenado grounds out to Drury at 3rd.

Gorman lofts a short fly behind 2nd base that Farmer will scamper on out to flag down to retire the side.

Oviedo pitching for St. Louis in the bottom of the 7th.

And the leadoff batter Jonathan India promptly calcutta’s an Oviedo slider way up into the left field bleachers for a homer….9-4 Reds

Do we need pitching or what?

Of course, I see no reason for Wainwright to ever start a game in Cincinnati. Hopefully this one will be his last start ever at Cincinnati.

Milwaukee now with a 3-2 lead over Colorado in the last of the 3rd at Miller Park.

This bullpen is in deep trouble! Helsley is great but we are giving up chunks of runs between the starter and the 9th inning! It starts to look like nobody out there is any good!

Top of 8. Ian Gibaut toeing the Cincinnati rubber.

Carlson blisters a shot to right-center….that will split the outfielders and head all the way to the wall and Dylan will trot into 2nd base with a leadoff double.

Donovan strikes out looking and he’s far from the first batter who has disputed this home plate ump’s verdict this evening…..and Marmol is now making a bee-line out towards home plate to express his displeasure…..and he’s getting tossed. His second eviction of the year.

Nooty grounds out 3-1 on a very close play at 1st base….. Carlson moves over to 3rd.

    Dickerson on 3-2 walks.

Edman on 3-2 Tommy singles to center and Carlson will score with Dickerson advancing to 3rd….9-5 Reds.

    O’Neill strikes out swinging.

You think we are bad tonight. Toronto leads Boston 25-3 in the bottom of the 5th at Fenway. This could be an historic game.

Toronto now leads 27-3 now at Fenway in the top of the 6th.

Brewers still clinging to the 3-2 lead over the Rockies at Miller Park.

Jansen and Tapia both with 6 RBI for the Jays in Rat’s Toronto – Boston nail biter.

Zack Thompson keeps the Reds off the scoreboard in the 8th and we just need 4 to tie and 5 to go crazy in the 9th……I bet the Jays could accomplish that comeback on this otherwise fine Friday evening.

Top of 9. Hunter Strickland pitching for Cincy.

Goldy fouls out to Votto in the coaches box at 1st base.

Arenado fouls out to Votto not all that far from Goldy’s foul out just a minute ago.

Gorman strikes out swinging to end it.

    Your miserable final score:

    Cincinnati Reds 9
    St. Louis Cardinals 5

The Reds staff registered 14 K’s tonight.

If we only had Juan Soto our pitching problems would be solved.

If those 3 walks hadn’t scored we’d have still lost. Game score 29, ouch. The last time we won a game Waino started was in June vs Miami.

    Great math work, Bling.

It sure was, Euro. It rekindled bad memories of those long worded story math problems we had to solve back in the day. The wifey and I sat down for a good hour trying to figure it out, but the “29” part kept throwing us off. We finally called my wife’s smart sister and posed Bling’s equation to her and she told us to ignore both the “29” and the “Miami” parts. So it took awhile, but yes Bling was right….. without those 3 walks we still would have lost 6-5 last night.

29 was Adams personal GmSc as a SP’r last night. Ashcraft recorded a 39.
