The Yanks should look for lightning in a bottle and grab Dejong. They seem to have a Pitching Coach that knows magic. Lol.

Goldy Dinger! Their pitchers hit batsmen like 3 times already. Nootys gonna keep getting curves until he hits one
5 runs now! May need 8 to win – you know how its been going…

Kinda nice having a breather from the tougher teams. Thou I see some hitters in this Red lineup. They are gonna get better.

Is a six-run lead enough? Let’s not count chickens just yet. We’ve seen this before. On the other hand, this is the Reds!

Edman Carlson Goldy bring in 2 runs
O’Niel not making solid contact yet. Needs to get back there before the break. Swung at a fastball way outside.

Tyler looking rough so far but at least Edman starting to hit again. Carlson is going good. Still need another OF bat imo. A consistent hitter with pop.

We wouldn’t blow another 6 run lead would we?

Man I love watching Sosa play shortstop.

Sosa is quick and great speed too. Just have to get him on base. Make him another Vince Coleman or Willie McGee?

On the tradable players, Flaherty and DeJong won’t get you anything. Besides you don’t want to deal Jack while his value is low. I think he will come back and be quite good, so for now you bite the bullet and hope he can be a stabilizing rotation piece in ‘23.

I don’t see Edman as that marketable either. I think the guys that would bring value are Burleson, Donovan, Gorman, Carlson and obviously Walker. Grafecco is getting there as well. Burleson is the only one of those I am willing to part with, unless you get a top notch starter.

Wonder what it would take to get Marquez from the Rockies? Burleson and maybe Gallegos and Sosa or Yepez? Eduardo is one of my favorite Cardinals so I would hate to part with him, but he would be fun to watch here. Yepez would love hitting in Coors Field and would be a 30+ homer guy here.

If we could somehow talk the Rox into taking McFarland and Ver Hagen, rather that Gallegos and even kicking in some salary money I would go for it. Addition by subtraction.

You have to add prospects to get them to take McFarland and VerHagen.

Heck, they would probably have the sense just to waive McFarland.

We’ve had a few drop in today. They don’t drop in against the good teams.

Gonna be tough seeing O’Neill in LF, Carlson in CF, and Soto in RF. Lol.

We might hit double figures in runs today. We wouldn’t blow a 10 run lead would we?

Missed opportunity to inflate some stats. Guess we shouldn’t be greedy.

Bases loaded no out, and future red jacket guys Goldschmidt and Pujols coming up. Strikeout and fly out to shallow left. Then O’Neill, who has been on base two of three time hits a hot shot to third and is thrown out, so no runs. Think if O’Neill had jumped on the first pitch-fastball on the outer half, he could have hammered a bases clearing double into the right-center field gap.

Holliday looking like a kid – backwards hat and all. Looks like he could still play, but he has a kid of his own who will be drafted.

I was going to ask how big of a lead is safe to bring in McFarland, thought better of it, and now I see no lead is safe to bring him in.

McFarland bringing his usual dose of fuel to spark a fire where there was none before.

Marmol says even with a 7 run lead and five outs to go I cannot take a chance, and calls on a slightly less arsonist in Oviedo.

Now I will say I like Johan. He has the tools – just needs a little more maturity.

Also, Donovan booted a potential DP ball that would have saved TJ’s hide.

McFarland looked good this afternoon. That should earn him more innings in the future.
