Carlson was safe! Protest it
April 17, 2022 at 2:13 pm #182661And he indeed is ruled safe on the Wong bobble. When looking at the replay, Carlson did a slight stutter-step just before hitting the bag, which could have cost him…..but he did just barely beat the throw. Let’s put up a couple tallies.
April 17, 2022 at 2:15 pm #182662Albert whacks one halfway to Oshkosh!! 3-3 ballgame. He’s going to get his 700 this year. All 3 runs will not negatively effect Ashby’s era, due to the Wong miscue.
April 17, 2022 at 2:17 pm #182663Albert with a 3 run dinger. Another Card defying age.
April 17, 2022 at 2:18 pm #182664Bang! Tie game. I think that calls for a second piece of upsidedown cake.
April 17, 2022 at 2:25 pm #182665Boy this ump has a bit of a tight zone today. The first two Brewers ground out meekly to start the Milwaukee 3rd. This is just what the doctor ordered for Hudson……a nice quiet but swift 3rd inning. Hudson quickly goes 0-2 on Tellez, but then throws 3 straight balls…..yes, he finally whiffs the Brewer 1st baseman to retire the side. 3-3 ballgame.
April 17, 2022 at 2:27 pm #182666I think that calls for a second piece of upsidedown cake.
You’re a lucky man, Cardinal In France. If you weren’t 5000 miles away, I’d come over and mooch a piece from you .
April 17, 2022 at 2:33 pm #182667Bader walks to open the Redbird 4th and then Paulie hits a tailor made 6-4-3 DP, but once again Wong bobbles it and all hands on deck are safe …no they’ll get the out at 2nd, but once again Wong has been uncharacteristically wobbly defensively and PDJ stands safety at 1st as a result. No error on Wong, as of course the DP cannot be assumed. PDJ swipes 2nd. Knizner and Carlson can’t do anything offensively here in the 4th….still 3-3 heading to the bottom of the 4th.
April 17, 2022 at 2:37 pm #182668Hudson surrenders a leadoff base hit and that will put an end to his work day. Who’s coming in…. McFarland?
April 17, 2022 at 2:39 pm #182669Yes, the ex-Oriole,Diamondback, Oakland A is being summoned in.
T.J. induces Navarez to fly out to Bader in center.
Taylor lines a single to left and now we’re looking at a speck of trouble with Brewers occupying both 1st & 2nd bases with just one down.
Peterson walks……oh oh.
Wong – Can make amends now for his fielding difficulties today…. he’s very dangerous in a situation such as this…
April 17, 2022 at 2:51 pm #182670Wong strikes out swinging…..sweet!
Adames ….I don’t like that….on 1-2 it looked like McFarland wasted a pitch high and outside…. don’t do that with the bases juiced.
April 17, 2022 at 2:56 pm #182671Ahhhh! And McFarland walks Adames….4-3 Crew and they are looking for more .
Whew….Yelich grounds out to 2nd to retire the side.
April 17, 2022 at 2:59 pm #182672We’re lucky to get out of that with just one run.
April 17, 2022 at 3:01 pm #182673Wow. Goldy is taking this slow start thing to the the extreme this year.
April 17, 2022 at 3:04 pm #182674Jake Cousins center stage for Milwaukee here in the Cardinal 5th.
Goldy lofts a can of yellow corn to Taylor in center….he needs to get untracked here quickly. Can someone please show Goldy some clips of those prodigious Juan Yepez homers that he’s tagged in Memphis already here this season.
O’Neil strikes out.
Arenado dumps a short fly into center for a hit…..8 game hitting streak now for the Cardinal 3rd baseman.
Albert grounds out 6-4.
Still 4-3 Milwaukee.
April 17, 2022 at 3:10 pm #182675Even on base hits no one is getting hard contact off Hicks.
April 17, 2022 at 3:11 pm #182676Jordan Hicks dealing for the Cards here in the 5th.
McCutchen fists a single to short center.
Tellez – Boy, Rowdy looks like he’s straight out of your slow pitch Friday night beer league. Strikes out swinging as McCutchen just barely beats the Knizner throw to 2nd for a stolen base…..I thought initially that they got him at 2nd.
Hiura walks and we’re just begging for trouble now.
Narvarez
April 17, 2022 at 3:16 pm #182677Got to take advantage when we get guys on base. Move em over. Way too many guys getting on with 2 outs in this series!
April 17, 2022 at 3:18 pm #182678God, this Thompson guy just never shuts up!
April 17, 2022 at 3:25 pm #182679Narvarez – A 2-2 102 mph heater busts Knizner’s glove and he’ll have to go fetch another one.
Now he strikes out swinging.Peterson grounds out 6-4 and no damage done.
April 17, 2022 at 3:25 pm #182680Hicks has got some gas doesn’t he? Don’t burn him out.
April 17, 2022 at 3:27 pm #182681He sure does, Wooster……high octane gas.
April 17, 2022 at 3:31 pm #182682Gustave the main man for the Crew here in the 6th. Brewers picked him up from Pittsburgh last June. And the Birds go down with nary a whimper, as we mozzy on along to the bottom of the 6th.
April 17, 2022 at 3:33 pm #182683Not able to watch today, appreciate the commentary.
April 17, 2022 at 3:35 pm #182684Bling must be at work again. Good commentary Pugs I’m watching on my phone. My computer won’t connect!
