Just because you keep repeating it, it doesn’t make it so. Please share some data to support your assertion. A good start would be to articulate exactly what you call “clutch situations”.
Here’s one way to look at it. Arenado career with runners in scoring position: .321/.403/.600/1.003.
Starters stinking it up. Hitters not hitting. The Bullpen is the one bright spot right now. Imagine saying that three weeks ago.
Just watch the games and see how many times he comes up in situations where he can do some damage, help the team. All I need to do is watch. You can observe a lot by watching. And I see him fail many, may times. Just like tonight.

Here’s what we have in tonight’s lineup –Second baseman playing left field.
First baseman playing right field.
Right fielder playing center field.
Second string shortstop hitting .190.
Backup catcher hitting .178.
I do watch the games. Almost every game. I kinda recall 2-3 clutch home runs late just in the last two weeks. I see Goldy and Arenado carrying this average team. Oh well.
Baseball is a game of stats, providing data to frame meaningful discussions. Otherwise, it is just opinions – and yelling the loudest and most often means absolutely nothing.
bccran, St. Louis currently has 11 players on the IL. And their starting shortstop to open the season fizzled out and was sent down.
Having said that, I don’t think the defense and fielders out of position is what ails this team.

Gorman grounds out with the bases loaded and two out. As I mentioned in another thread – clutch hitting is KILLING this team.
The only thing saving this team is that it’s a weak division and Milwaukee is not taking advantage of their current opportunities.
Gorman is now knotted with Pulhous and Nado in a three way tie at one for the BLD- bases loaded dud.
Players playing out of position always weakens a defense. But it doesn’t help that they’ve gone 16 straight innings now without scoring a run.

Here is the correct info. This season, St. Louis hitters are batting .261 with RISP, eighth best of 30 MLB teams.

Euro I’m so glad you are staying on top of these important stats too. Yes our ZipWHOPer just increased to 8. Hopefully no higher than 10 by All Star break. Interestingly enough old man Albert out hit all our youth movement Ofers tonight except for Donovan with 1 hit.Albert had 2! Go figure. Albert is tied though with Nado and Gorman now with 1 BLD each. Maybe better tomorrow night. Go Cardinals!
Don’t know what is wrong with this team but there is something wrong! We have two guys who would be in the top 5 for MVP is season ended today, a great bullpen, decent starting pitching and only a couple games above 500! Our parts are much better than our total! We are lucky the Brewers have not run away like last year, but I think if we don’t win the division we won’t make the playoffs! Maybe our problems are above players? We should be better!
