Very excited to see Pez plying his defensive prowess over at 1st base today. And when Goldy hangs them up one day, Pez will be the regular Cardinal 1st baseman. Today’s game will be an extremely difficult one to win. If I were a betting man, I’d be wagering a hefty sum on SD in this game. But, I could under no circumstances never bet against our boys. Who knows, maybe lightening will strike and I’ll be wrong? It has happened……..I think it was back in ’03……or was it ’04?
Yu Darvish can be a real thorn in our side at times. Hopefully we can dish out some payback today. Like bc, I’m not overly impressed with the bottom of the order. I await the return of Carlson and O’Neill.
Donovan, Yepez, Nootbaar, and Knizner are all in the lineup today. No way TLR would ever have 3 rookies and a player with Knizner’s experience in his lineup. He disliked rookies because he ‘didn’t know what they would do.’ (i.e. They didn’t have enough of an MLB track record.) I never liked that about TLR and I don’t miss him. Ollie sure looks at things differently.
Looks like that #9 batter has an 11 game hit streak and saved two runs for Hudson, ending the top of the first inning. Pencil him in!
Hudson hadn’t allowed a base runner since.Stats are really close so far. Deliberately walking Goldy. 3 and 4 batters have to pick it up. Bader and Donovan gives us 2 chances for a lead off man. I like Bader at 9 and esp on D.
Din-din tonight chicken fried steak -baked po-green beans. Go Cardinals!Din-din today was the weekly trip to the Gasthof Amish restaurant. Fried chicken, fish, sweet potatoes, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, apple cobbler, and vanilla soft serve ice cream along with sweet tea. All of this after my trip to the BMW dealership in Evansville to get the problems with my key fobs fixed.
Nice to see Arenado get off the schneid. Machado has dropped to .344 and now I believe Goldschmidt is the leading hitter in the NL at .353.

The 5-9 in the lineup today are 1-16 with a single the only base runner. Thankfully the top of the lineup has been good.
Right Card25. Whitley scaring everybody. Need to keep the ball down. Got 3 runs to play with. Finally Witgren gets a deep fly. Its a Winner! Almost gave it away.
