BSM // KMOX // WIJR
Also BSSO and BSSW+May 12, 2022 at 10:14 am #185038No activity here yet? Do we know who’s going for the Orioles? McNally? Cuellar? Palmer? Dobson? Flanagan?
I have some things to do today and will probably miss this one. We need to win two of three vs Baltimore as the Giants are coming to Busch this weekend.
Din-din today is a New York Strip steak, some jumbo crinkle cut french fries, a Mt. Dew, and some chocolate ice cream. Then out to mow the yard and do some trimming. Then use the leaf blower and get the leaves out of the garage. Then jog a little. I’ll be wore out but me and Whitey Herdog will still be on the couch late tonight to watch the Phillies and Dodgers from Dodger Stadium.

May 12, 2022 at 10:52 am #185045Matz is now starting according to the line up posted of
Edman 4
Goldschmidt DH
Arenado 5
Yepez 9
Pujols 3
O’Neill 7
Carlson 8
Knizner 2
Donovan 6May 12, 2022 at 10:58 am #185046
jj-cf-stlParticipantMatz on regular rest today would actually makes sense, because tomorrow is the Giants who just blew him up.
May 12, 2022 at 11:15 am #185048Today’s lineup could do some damage.
May 12, 2022 at 11:20 am #185049Pujols against a RH pitcher again? grrr…..
I hope Albert proves me wrong though.
May 12, 2022 at 12:21 pm #185054‘Today’s lineup could do some damage’.
Yes they could. I like this lineup.
May 12, 2022 at 12:32 pm #185055Just finished a din-din of spinach and ricotta tortellini and a salad. After a couple of innings I’ll slip off for a bowl of strawberries.
Let’s see some Cardinal offensive fireworks like yesterday. Rah Cardinals!
Unfortunately the enjoyment will be spoiled by motormouth Thompson.
May 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm #185057Opponents have feasted this season on the sinking fastball of #STLCards LHP Steven Matz. Of the 5 HRs he has surrendered, 4 have been on his sinker/fastball. Jorge Mateo hit a HR today on a 95.7 mph fastball. Coming into today, opponents have hit .396 off Matz's sinking fastball.

May 12, 2022 at 1:26 pm #185063That was a disappointment. O’Neill whiffs with sacks loaded.
May 12, 2022 at 1:29 pm #185064O’Neill’s 2nd strikeout today. He seems to be reverting back to his old form, pre 2021. I, like others on here, feel like this is about the norm for him. Hopefully he can turn it around or else he will end up like DeJong.

May 12, 2022 at 1:39 pm #185065Looks like last night’s fireworks got wet overnight.
May 12, 2022 at 1:46 pm #18506610 runs yesterday, and zip today. Wth?
May 12, 2022 at 1:54 pm #185067Only two hits with two outs in the last of the 6th.
This team needs something. Bogaerts, perhaps?
May 12, 2022 at 1:55 pm #185068Arenado just doubled to left. Now it’s up to Yepez. Or perhaps Pujols.
Oh boy………
May 12, 2022 at 1:58 pm #185069Six innings. Three hits. No runs. Not good
May 12, 2022 at 2:07 pm #185071Too bad. Matz did a nice job. Got zilch for help.
May 12, 2022 at 2:45 pm #185072Looks like the CiF/Rat Show today. Is today a public holiday in the States? Everybody asleep?
May 12, 2022 at 3:06 pm #185074Not asleep, at work, its a day game. I thought this lineup would put on a show, but looks like a lot of strike outs instead. Matz sure got hit around.
May 12, 2022 at 3:23 pm #185075Color me disappointed. I guess it was the STL offense that was on holiday.
May 12, 2022 at 3:24 pm #1850763-2 Baltimore your unhappy final.
Need to win two of three at home vs the Giants. Then we go to New York to play the Mets. Then shortly after that a three game set with Toronto. Schedule isn’t easy.
And remember, late September we have a six game road trip out west. Three at San Diego and three at Dodger Stadium. But we do finish with six against the Pirates.

ParticipantWell I didn’t like the lineup when I saw it posted. Just got home and missed everything. Like I said, didn’t like lineup. Take out bader who has been getting on base at a decent clip, insert O’Neil who has been struggling. Though you got to get people playing time so I understand. Just can’t stay consistent but that’s baseball. The disappoint thing is losing two out of 3 to the orioles at home. I don’t think the orioles are a terrible team like some, I like their pitching. But we need to be winning series at home.
May 12, 2022 at 3:34 pm #185079Another pathetic performance. This team is almost unwatchable.
May 12, 2022 at 3:35 pm #185080Matz is a major disappointment.
May 12, 2022 at 3:38 pm #185081Tough series loss. Outscore the opponents but lose 2 of 3.
I still think O’Neill is a talent and you have to keep playing him. But something is off with him right now. It looks like he has opened his stance more than last year. Watching him in the ninth inning AB, he had several balls to hit but just could not square anything up.
So he is a bit off. I would go to some clips from last year and see what he was doing then. Seems like a small tweak in his approach and he would get back to mashing.
