Yea pugs, been busy. Kids got softball games, gfs got new grandson so spend time there. I check the wire to see scores and tap in here when I can.

Odor grounds it routinely out to Robertson at 2nd and the rookie will glove it and…. he’ll wing it way wide of Goldy’s reach for an error ….runners now at 2nd and 3rd with 2 out. Has to be a little case of the jitters for young Kramer…… he’ll make the play flawlessly next time.

Baltimore Orioles 1Great win. I was really surprised to see Whitley optioned out myself despite his really bad outing a few days ago. Maybe attitude or not 100% healthy?
I tell you this, without mikolas I don’t know where we would be. He’s been outstanding this year. His only blemish I believe was the game he shouldn’t even have still been in. Just solid.
I didn’t catch Whitley getting optioned out. He’s been pretty good, a couple other guys maybe should have went before him.

By the way, you may not hear back from Rat, as he doesn’t check in on these game threads often after the first pitch has been thrown. But before game time, you’ll learn what he and his faithful pooch had for din-din, what he did out in his yard that day,plus recaps of any Jasper high school games he attends …..oh and Rat is never bashful in requesting someone to go rustle up a ballpark weather report for him…..but for some extremely strange and inexplicable reason, he’s one of the most loveable chaps you’ll ever meet.
We may be in for a competition between Sosa and Donovan for the starter role. I am thinking Edman will slide to the outfield to make room for Gorman. Possibly before too long.
In Whitleys last two appearances he’s record a total of 4 outs, 4 ER and 5 BB’s. May be more going on there than we know about.
Edman is way to good of an IF for me to be putting him in the OF other than emergency situations. And I don’t think Gorman is that close to being recalled, another 3 K night last night.
While I don’t agree with the accuracy of a lot of fielding metrics, Edman leads all the big in runs saved, regardless of position, he’s a gold glover (for what thats worth), and he sure passes my eye test too. I think he can be an above average SS if needed and is an exceptional 2B. I’ve been on board of Edman at SS and platoon Donovan and Sosa at 2B for awhile, but Donovan hasn’t looked bad at SS but it’s been a small sample, and if they keep Edman at 2B with the platoon at SS I guess it’s OK. One reason I think Edman could benefit at SS is the same reason Eckstein played SS and not 2B, the momentum of the fielding often leads the player into the throw, especially on a double play. And while I don’t think Edman had a weak arm, it’s not the strongest and he has somewhat of an awkward throwing motion. Either way I keep Edman in the middle IF and his versatility to play either opens more options to improve around him.
