Yaz with a 2 out rbi single to put the Giants in the scoring column here in the bottom of the 5th. And then Rat’s MVP predicted winner from last year, Joc Pederson, flies out to Bader right at the base of the center field wall.

SF 1I’ve been busy with a lot of things for about the last year. I hope to free up some time shortly to be able to get back here more often. I still read things almost daily.
Top of 6. Santos still pitching for SF
O’Neill strikes out swinging on a breaking ball out of the zone.
Pez . Juan just has that look about him that he belongs here. He grounds out to Vosler at 3rd.
Bader rolls a slow grounder down the line at 3rd….Vosler scoops her up and fires it…..out at 1st base. Harrison usually beats that throw to 1st on a play such as this ….will have to check the replay to see if he got out of the box slowly.

Giants starting to hit the ball with authority off Mikolas. Two on( 1st & 2nd ) with 2 out as Mikolas now has 86 pitches under his belt. Let’s stay with the action shall we?
Gonzalez walks after Mikolas had him in the Marianna Trench 0-2……and this will signal an end to Miles’ evening. Mikolas can win this game or lose it, as he’s responsible for all 3 Giants who are presently occupying all 3 infield bases.

Yadi golfs a little liner to left, but it’s right in the vicinity of Ruf and he has it for the out.
Carlson hits a high drive to deep left!….Ruf drifts back to the wall and it bangs off the wall and Dylan will have himself a double. Kind of a peculiar play in that when it left Carlson’s bat it had “home run” written all over it and then when Ruf neared the wall it looked as if he’d catch it…..neither thing happened, but we’ll take the double.
PDJ strikes out.
Edman drills a hotshot grounder right back up the middle and into center field for another hit and Carlson will score with ease making it 4-1 Cards….and boy GameCard is correct…..Tommy is sizzzzling red hot!
Goldy lines a base hit with Edman stopping at 2nd base. And Goldy’s hit will send Jake McGee to the pines.
PITCHING CHANGE
Tyler Rogers your new Giant pitcher…..and we’ve seen almost their entire pen so far here tonight. They can’t have many left, especially with the roster reduction that came into effect on the 1st of this month. Shades of Ted Abernathy with this Rogers fellow.
Arenado walks and that puts a man in red at every base.
O’Neill smokes a liner to left that will plate two…. Carlson & Edman score making it 6-1 Good Guys.
Pez ….base hit to right and in comes Arenado with lucky run #7! O’Neill stopping at 2nd.
Bader flies out to Gonzalez in straightaway right field to retire the side.

Flores blisters a shot to center, but it’s within spitting distance for Harrison Bader and he has it for the out.
Crawford hits a little roller out to Wittgren…and he’ll make a quick motion as if he’s going to toss it to 1st and then decides he’ll beat Crawford in a foot race to the bag …and he will beat him….2 out.
Ruf grounds it thru the hole between short and 3rd and out into left for a hit.
Gonzalez flies out to O’Neill in left to retire the side.

Edman hits a rocket one-hopper right at Crawford at short and he’ll just barely nips the speedy Edman at 1st for the out. Goes to show just how swift Tommy E. is…..truly amazing that he almost beat that throw on such a hard hit ball
Goldy hits it a mile high….and just short of a mile deep as the ballpark is going to just hold this one as Ruf will gather it in in the left field warning track.

SF 1Bottom of 9. Kodi Whitley in to hopefully put an end to this one without we Cardinal fans getting our feathers ruffled.
Estrada grounds it down to Arenado at 3rd who gloves it….and then holds it for 2 seconds to make things interesting and then he’ll gun Estrada out at 1st…..it almost looked like Arenado was toying with him some, but he wasn’t of course as that’s not Nolan’s modus operandi.

Ah, how sweet it is, to get up in the morning to learn that our birds stomped on those Giants with both feet. So much for predictions of a searing defeat out there in chilly SF. And what about that Edman! It warms the cockles to see this young man play baseball. It’s also a pleasure to see our latest arrival jy having such a good time. Rah Cardinals.
