It was obvious from watching today’s game (Sunday vs AZ) that Pujols is nowhere near where he used to be with the glove. We are a big disadvantage with him playing 1stbase instead of Goldschmidt.

And even though he got a hit today and an RBI he’s nowhere near where he used to be with the bat. I am going to stick with my prognostication and say around the All Star Break he will be hitting around.227 with 3-4 homeruns.

Well rats I agree with the assessment of pujols at first but I think everyone knew that. I don’t see him getting lots of opportunities there. Far as his offense. If he only has 3 or 4 homers, it will probably be because of lack of opportunity. I still say he’s a better option from what I’ve seen over Dickerson most of the time. But that’s just me. Dickerson does have more speed but overall he has been lacking. But he may change my mind yet.

Earlier in his career I thought Pujols had some of the best foot work I had ever seen in a first sacker. Did not see the game today sĂł I dont know if that continues or not.

He looked fine for a guy who’s 42 (or so). He was hired because fans want to see him.

Today’s game mighty iffy looking at radar. Rain is already in Springfield and headed that way.

I have been advocating for Gorman to get a first baseman’s glove. He’s a natural 3rd baseman and should be able to handle first. That would really help with the team’s depth and perhaps get Gorman playing at Busch sooner.

Radar looks like rain in the area around 3:30. Hopefully Matz throws strikes and they can gave a quick game.

Sosa can’t buy any time to get his bat going. He hasn’t delivered in his occasional at bats. Shame he can’t get the opportunity that Dejong gets. He won the position last year and hasn’t gotten a fair chance this year. Marmol is apparently, sadly, a puppet.

As kscardfan indicated, things are looking iffy. There’s a big pile of green stuff headed towards the St. Louis area. Not sure of the ETA but I would suspect around the 3rd or 4th inning.

Anyway, din-din today is once again bar-b-q chicken, beef & noodles, Mt. Dew, and some chocolate ice cream. All of this about the time of the 1st pitch. Me and Whitey Herdog will once again me manning – and dogging – the couch watching BSMW. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar – maybe two if the game does get completed.

Hopefully game gets to completion with a Cards win. Thinking maybe a liquid lunch. In honor of Arenado and Walker Coors it is.

Knizner sure was robbed of a homer to center by Taylor, Cardinal In France. Now Matz needs to be especially careful here, as those sort of defensive gems can lead to runs on the scoreboard for the team making the web-gem. Cards need to come right back with one of their own.

1-0 Cards in top of the 6th.

Our din-din today will be beef shoulder steak w cooked onions, baked potatoe and corn on the cob. Corn must really be out of season down here. Haven’t seen any decent fresh ears in quite a while. Think thats 2 for Goldy in 2 consecutive games. He sat out for Pougous yesterday and we still won! Hate getting robbed like that. Makes it still a tight game. Lets win this one for Matz.Go Cardinals!

Kinda like fettuccini, but wider, with Parmesan, butter and eggs and bacon bits.
