Not a very exciting win, but a win is a win. Hopefully the offense can get on track here soon. It’s starting to get to the point of a worry.
The Cards are 7-1 in Knizner starts and 6-8 in Yadi starts. Coincidence or trend that needs to be exploited…?
stl25 I have a hard time knocking Yadi- experience level is awesome. Also been known to get hits and moves guys around on base. Only thing he gives up is speed on the basepaths. But you can’t pinch run for him because we need him.Knizner will get alot of playing time now because ges hitting the ball. As it should be to my thinking.
Couldn’t watch but seems to have been an old fashioned pitchers duel or neither team could hit worth a crap depending on your view. Funny how people are complaining about us not supporting our pitchers but I saw an article on Kansas City saying same thing about them. So it’s all about perspective.
So far Knizner has been doing a lot to ease the worry that Herrera might not be ready in time to take over catching duties. Let’s see how long Knizner can keep doing everything well.
It sure is weird seeing Yadi sitting instead of playing although I think everyone realizes that it’s necessary for now. Yadi is still very much the face of the franchise, IMO.
Who, besides Wooster, would have ever thought that when Goldy slammed his homer with one out in the bottom of the 1st inning, that it would end up being the game’s lone run? I wonder if the very first pitch of a ballgame, that was deposited in the outfield bleachers, has ever accounted for the only run in a 9 inning game? This question may be best posed to Skippy and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau.

As my dad used to say, “Those are the game you gotta win.” Getting your share of those close ones can be the difference in the final standings.
Man, that catch by Michael “Air” Taylor was something. One of the best plays we will see this year.
Pitching is much better I the early going than last year. Throwing strikes makes all the difference.
