Sorry I’m behind in the action, watched the ceremony on record. Pujols with 2 more rbi. One back of the babe.
Miami plated a couple of runs in the 9th last night and beat Milwaukee 4-3. Phillies up one game on Milwaukee heading into play on Sunday. But, both Philadelphia and San Diego have the tiebreaker over the Brewers. San Diego a 5-2 lead in the 8th late Saturday night against the White Sox.
Rat, I don’t think the Padres are a factor in regards to playing against the Cardinals in the wild card round. They have pretty much locked down the 5th seed. The Cards opponent will be the Phillies or Brewers.
Willie, the start of the season got pushed back. The lockout, a limited ST and there were a few April games pushed back to Oct., when they reworked the season schedule.
Yep the great pujols comes through again. Now Carlson and dejong do back to back doubles. I knew the pirates would be some good fodder for pujols.
Players can’t even slide anymore. When you hook slide, the straight leg is supposed to hit center of bag and pop up, not slide off. Runner gets lucky cause apparently guy in new york is blind. Even he thought he was out.
Starting Wainwright on Friday against the Phillies would be a major mistake! They will hammer him! Mikolas or Montgomery are better options! I prefer Mikolas!
I’ll be honest, if I was being clear headed, I probably wouldn’t start waino in post season either. But being that I’m a little sentimental and I believe in the magic that is with these guys, I’m starting him but having a very very short leash and putting whoever my 4th or 5th option on standby. Will be a interesting to see post season roster.
1982willie…Yeah, he didn’t look good today vs. an awful ballclub, but I’m sticking with my first choice of Mikolas, Quintana and Wainwright in that order in the 1st round. I’ll also add that I’m rarely right about this kind of stuff…Haha! Oh well, if I knew what was going to happen, I certainly wouldn’t bother watching.
Milwaukee scores a run in the last of the 9th to tie Miami 2-2. Now Miami has plated a run in the top of the 10th to take a 3-2 lead on the Brewers.

No way am I rooting for the Phillies to clinch early. I want them running their top pitchers out as long as possible before we face them. I’m telling you… Philadelphia is much more dangerous than Milwaukee in October. They still owe us for 2011.
I agree CIF. Seems like so much of this has been, well, here goes….blown out of proportion. I’m more interested in St. Louis winning ballgames than I am hearing about Pujols, Molina, and maybe Wainwright’s last hurrah.
UPDATE: Now Milwaukee has tied Miami in the last of the 10th 3-3.

Forsch31…WINNER! You aced the 2nd question, Forsch. Mike Schmidt places 2nd behind Babe Ruth for most season HR titles with 8. He was the guy I was most afraid of from the mid 70’s to the early 80’s and although we have a guy that may pass him up, I still consider Schmidt to be the best third baseman of all-time when you combine bat and glove at the position. Schmidt was no joke. Good guess on #1, but no dice. The correct answer is in the hint…
