Bling…Pugs could probably tell you. He predicted Albert would hit 23 HR’s in 2022 before the season had started…Haha!

The Great Pujols now has 2211 RBI’s and needs just 3 more to tie Babe Ruth for second place on the all-time career RBI list. Will he do it?

Good to see Albert and Burleson set the table for Dickerson like that.

forsch31…Both good guesses, but no. A hint to the 1st question is that the player who is the correct answer is still playing. A hint to the 2nd question is that Mickey Mantle was normally batting behind Maris in 1961…Haha!

I looked them up after answering. I don’t think you need to give anymore clues.

I knew Mantle batted behind Maris so I knew that would affect his total.

forsche31…Haha! Yeah, I think if I saw The Great Mickey looming in the on deck circle, I’d think twice about putting Roger on…

I don’t believe Maris got any IBBs in ‘61.

Career IBBs – hmmm, I will go with Ted Williams as second behind Bonds.

Oh wait, the guy is still playing. Okay, how about Albert?

Bikemike…WINNER! Roger Maris had exactly zero IBB’s in 1961. Not a bad spot in the order to have Mickey Mantle hitting behind you…Haha! Unfortumately, the other answer is wrong. The correct answer is a player who is still active.

Arenado takes note from his last AB and gets a pitch to drive on the first delivery, and this time jumps on it.

BikeMike…WINNER! Albert Pujols places second on the all time career IBB list with 316 intentional passes. Not surprisingly, 252 of those 316 IBB’s were issued with Albert decked out in a Redbird uniform. The IBB wasn’t officially tracked until 1955, but legend has it that Mel Ott was issued 4 IBB’s in 4 PA’s in a game vs. the Phillies in 1929.

What a horrible throw by their right fielder on Burly’s hit. Was he throwing to home or to third?

    Bling…It looked like a throw from Rasmus…

This might be a game where Albert pitches the ninth inning.

bikemike, maybe they’ll let him pitch the 7th, 8th & 9th so he can get his 1st save.

Yeah. I used to make fun of Colby’s ‘worm burners’.

Bling…I remember one in particular. It looked like he swapped the baseball in his glove for a nerf ball. It just floated like a small helium filled baloon. I’m not certain I’ve ever seen one quite like it.

Back then, Colby’s dad Tony would show up on game threads on the old The Cardinal Nation Blog, and I remember him getting a laugh out of it one time.

Nice play by NA going to his right from the shortstop position.

Bling…I’ll be darned. Rasmus actually had a real good ’09 NLDS with the Cardinals, but that’s about the only thing that went right in that 3 game sweep. I was a little surprised when he was traded to Toronto for all those BP guys in ’11, but I’m glad it happened. Colby was a bit of an odd sort.

I get a kick out of seeing all the StL. fans on their feet and having some fun every time Albert steps to the plate. You can sure tell they feel like they’re getting their money’s worth. Even when he K’s it looks like they’re having fun. And when he taters-up… Well, what can you say?
