I was just about to pull my phone out to record pujols but was just too slow. I just got caught up in moment, I knew he was locked in the first at bat, just missed his one good pitch. Feels good to finally see pujols hit one in person.

I haven’t cared about the Pujols nostalgia all year, but this weekend knowing it’s his last 3 regular season games, I must say I care a little more.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Donovan is a genuine headache for the opposition in the post-season. I mean like a Bobby Richardson type headache.

Cards667…Nostalgia aside, they might not have qualified for the post-season if not for Albert Pujols.

Flaherty lookin’ pretty much rehabbed so far tonight. Albert dinger and consecutive hits by Donovan-Goldy and Nooty give us 2 runs and up 1. I’m liking this game so far. Keep it up Redbirds. Thanks for the good wishas to 1TD.

So Flaherty had another good outing. I didn’t see many of his pitches, so I hope his stuff matched his results. And good to see Albert aiming for some McD fries. Would be nice if the offense could show more life sometime soon.

Glad you survived Ian, Wooster. I’m four states above you on the Atlantic, and even here we’ve had a screen section blown out on the back porch today, plus a framed stained glass pulled loose and was dangling (hanging by just one of the two chains screwed very well into the porch wood framing, so able to take it down before it shattered). Some power out and flash flooding in the area too. Living on the Atlantic over 20 years, I empathize with those who have suffered real damage. Thankfully we haven’t.

If anyone here ever goes to a cardinal game and yepez is in the outfield. You should check him out. He goes through all kind of gyrations. It’s like watching my gfs 9 year old daughter waiting around for stuff.

If Noot gets there, it’s caught.

Well last at bat live that I’ll see by pujols ends in a walk, anticlimactic. They do a really cool thing on the field when they bring in helsley, turns ballpark red, hadn’t seen that.

Who doesn’t have an appetite for a snow cone now? Goldy with a great catch to end the game.

It’s a Winner! Hits by just about everybody. Albert blasts another backwards dinger! Good pitching tonight too.
    Go Cardinals!

Sounds like you’re in Virginia Euro. Glad you guys came out ok. We only had 65 mph winds in Central Fla. Ft Meyers on the coast had 150 and really got trashed bad. Saw you guys got 85 mph. That’s bad enough. We still have flooding everywhere from all the rain till the major river systems in the State drain down. Usually takes a couple weeks to move the water on out. General drains out to the ocean at Jacksonville and the Everglades for central Fla.
    Best wishes.

Flaherty looked better but 95 pitches to get thru 6 innings, and facing the Pirates.

Oh wow, I never even thought of the connection, Euro. We have this small snow cone machine out in the kitchen for my sweet granddaughter. I rarely whip one up for myself, but shortly after last night’s game I did indulge……I used all 6 flavors and it was marvelous. Anyway, it’s been a terribly busy week down at the salt mines, plus I went to both Redbird games in Milwaukee earlier this week. Nice seeing that both Wooster and Euro Dandy are weathering the storms safely in their respective locations. And what grandiose news coming out of southern Indiana with Rat’s latest vehicular acquisition…….. Rat will have the ladies in his fair city begging him to take them for a little romantic cruise out in the country. Also, thanks to Willie for checking in with us while in attendance at last night’s game. Too bad he was taking a big swig out of his brewski and thus just missed getting cell phone footage of #701 though. And a big thanks to TD for his continued wonderful Game Thread trivia questions. TD is to our game threads as Alex Trebek was to Jeopardy…… irreplaceable. And finally to Cardinal In France…….keep those mouth watering din-din reports coming in. It’s going to be a very long upcoming winter without all of our din-din revelations……very long. After our Cardinals finish play in the first week of November, they are gone until opening day 2023.
