Milwaukee leads Cincinnati 4-1 in the 4th at Riverfront. Burnes is on the mound for the Brewers. You can chalk up another W for the Brew Crew. They are on a winning streak. Not much chance of us beating Kershaw and the Dodgers tonight as they will be out for revenge.
6.5 games after close of business tonight. More than likely it will be 5.5 games after tomorrow’s encounter at Dodger Stadium. This is going to go to the wire folks.
September 24, 2022 at 7:05 pm #202246Oh, din-din is a tossed salad that includes home grown tomatoes, and pepperoni pizza with a local brew pub cold frosty one to wash it down. It’s the weekend after all.
September 24, 2022 at 7:06 pm #202247I wonder how many people out there, missed Albert’s #699 and #700, because it was broadcast on Apple TV?
The game was free to watch, but you had to sign up for an Apple ID account (which I believe is still free), and have an Apple TV box, or a computer, or a mobile device.
You could have watched the game, if you had some of the items above… but how many Senior Citizens or people that are technically challenged are going to go out and figure all of that out.
Another one of MLB’d blunders!!! (although they didn’t know that Albert would hit 699 & 700 during that game)
September 24, 2022 at 7:20 pm #202248Milwaukee now with a 6-1 lead on the Reds. Woe and despair, doom and gloom.
September 24, 2022 at 7:26 pm #202249Rat, I think what you meant was:
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
Gloom, despair, and agony on meSeptember 24, 2022 at 7:36 pm #202250I don’t like those games on AppleTV or any of those alternate streaming services. If they want to do that, I wish it was still available on the mlb.tv service.
I am an old guy, but still work using a laptop all day (accounting/finance field) and am fairly technically savvy. But I am not going to sign up for an AppleTV account and all that. Thus I missed the live action but watched all the highlights this morning. Saw that Dave Winfield was in attendance last night. Brought back a full circle type of memory as I recall seeing Winfield playing in Dodger Stadium as a youngster – 1974, and he was with the Padres of course.
September 24, 2022 at 7:57 pm #202252Jim Hayes just did a great pregame interview with AJ Pujols, Albert’s son, senior at Costa Mesa University in CA. Very articulate young man, and great perspective on the game and Albert’s accomplishments. Seems to be a man of high character, which is not surprising since Albert is as well. It’s great to be a Cardinals fan right now.
September 24, 2022 at 7:58 pm #202253I propose that tomorrow we have a creative writing contest to out-doom and out-gloom esteemed Ratsbuddy in prognosticating our down-to-the-wire near-miss at disaster.
Winner gets a six-pack of canned wine that would make CIF whince.
September 24, 2022 at 8:04 pm #202254I’m going to stay up as long as I can tonight. Wish I had skipped the blue cheese dipping sauce with those chicken wings.
September 24, 2022 at 8:07 pm #202255Winner gets a six-pack of canned wine
Make it an Advent Calendar of canned wine and I’m in.
September 24, 2022 at 8:07 pm #202256BikeMike? You in accounting and finance? Well, what’s your thoughts on the stock market? I just keep losing $$$……
September 24, 2022 at 8:13 pm #202257BikeMike…Although John Rooney had a nice call on #700 on KMOX radio, there was plenty of talk locally regarding what a shame it was that no familiar voice from a local TV play by play announcer was given the opportunity to describe the historic HR to loyal everyday Redbird and Pujols fans. I share those sentiments. It would have been nice for someone who what is referred to as a “homer” be able to share their enthusiam and excitement and relate the action to those who follow the team day in and day out and have appreciated all of the thrills and contributions to success that the great slugger has provided for the team and Cardinal fans during his HOF career.
September 24, 2022 at 8:17 pm #202258Always a lot of talk on here about the Redbirds possibly finding an OF’er that could provide some genuine serious production. I’m guessing most of us would be okay with Betts…Haha!
September 24, 2022 at 8:34 pm #202259I’m looking forward to Walker
September 24, 2022 at 8:35 pm #202260CardsSox4ever…Yeah, I happened to catch the interview and noticed how well spoken he is. Also heard him say he was planning on participating in the PGA circuit. If he’s anything like his old dad, they had better extend the distances of all the fairways on the tour…Haha!
September 24, 2022 at 8:39 pm #202261Who was the guy Albert celebrated with in the stands after hitting #700 ?
September 24, 2022 at 8:41 pm #202262jjcfstl…Adrian Beltre.
September 24, 2022 at 8:42 pm #202263Are we watching Monte or Matz?
September 24, 2022 at 8:42 pm #202264Thank you
September 24, 2022 at 8:47 pm #202265Looks like last night, but in reverse. Montgomery coming back down to earth some.
September 24, 2022 at 8:49 pm #202266Good point 1TD on not having the team’s regular television crew calling the historic blasts.
September 24, 2022 at 8:59 pm #202267BikeMike…Yeah, the immediate St. Louis area isn’t that large of an audience. I’m guessing they could have blacked out the TV broadcast and limited it to the Apple thing for the remainder of viewers outside of the area and allowed the locals to call the game or at least Albert’s AB’s. But hey let’s face facts. We’re nothing more than meaningless Redbird fans…
September 24, 2022 at 9:11 pm #202268So for those of us without Apple, Did Albert touch the same pitcher for both HRs?
September 24, 2022 at 9:29 pm #202269JMack…No, #699 was vs. a LHP and #700 vs. a RHP.
September 24, 2022 at 9:46 pm #202270they had better extend the distances of all the fairways on the tour…
1-T-D, AJ does look like he can swing a driver!
