I don’t like pujols in two slot, makes no sense unless you are just trying to pile up at bats. I know he’s left handed but I would rather have Donovan there, far as trying to win game, that makes more sense. He faces all pitchers well.
Looks like O’Niel has hammy problem again. Been burning basepaths and stealing for runs the last week. Want to trade him? Don’t get that at all. One of just a few left with MLB experience. First game lineups got me bewildered. Looks like they drew em out of a hat. Albert batting second? Worst BA’s on the team behind Donovan? Marmol either a genius or an idiot?

Go Cardinals!After watching the Farmer pop out to end the 3rd, somebody on the bench might need to remind Carlson about taking charge. Edman went backwards/sideways to snag the pop that Carlson could’ve grabbed by coming forward and at a good bit shorter distance. I replayed it to see if Edman called for it too early, and he waited a fair amount. I think Carlson has looked good defensively this year, so probably just a little rust.

Yep, I wondered in the game thread last night why they brought in DeLuzio in the 8th, took O’Neill out and left Dickerson in. Didn’t seem to make sense, but this obviously explains it.
What if you could trade O’Niell, DeJong, Cabrera for Giolito and Pollock. Nootbaar, McGreevy, Hence for Murphy. Sign Nimmo?

If Carlson continues to scuffle the vs RHP OF is Burleson, Nimmo, Walker and vs LHP it’s Walker, Nimmo, Carlson as Carlson and Burleson become more the platoon.

Forsch31…Nope, neither Albert or McGwire ever won a WS MVP or an All Star Game MVP. Of course, we all know Albert’s won 3 NL MVP’s and should have won 6 of them…Palmer is incorrect too. He was around for a good while before the advent of the DH in the AL. Good guesses though!
Yeah. I looked up and saw my McGwire and Pujols was wrong. I think I found the pitcher answer but obviously I’m not giving it.
Forsch31…Yeah, that was a good guess on the pitcher without an AB question, but Palmer broke into the Big Leagues in the mid 60’s, so he swung the bat a little. The guy who is the correct answer played for a team that was a big rival of the Palmer period Orioles during the time period that he was around. He was almost unbeatable for a season or two.
EuroDandy…Good guess on both accounts, but sorry to say you’re 0 for 2…Haha! Another subtle hint…Reversing the teams in your incorrect answer should help you…

I was going to hint that they both had the same last name, but that would have been way too easy for this elite squad of participants…Haha! Good guess on Hunter, but he, like Palmer, also broke into the Big Leagues in the mid 60’s, so obviously he stepped into the box quite a bit.
Forsch31…It’s not an easy one, but it shouldn’t be too awfully difficult to get right. He was a pretty big deal during that era. Quite possibly the best pitcher in the AL. As I mentioned in the hint, you have to focus on a particular time line.

Yep, I started doubting Brooks on the league MVP after I answered. I watched his mastery of the hot corner and Reds in the World Series as it happened, so I knew he had that MVP. Knowing the team was a big hint.
