Quintana flinging a no-no thru 2 complete in a scoreless affair.

Participant1toughdominican. I respect what you are saying but I disagree. Staying with the Cardinals wouldn’t have changed his injuries. He was already suffering from that stuff the last year or so with st Louis. Also not having dh, would the Cardinals have stayed with him all these years. We wouldn’t have goldy. If anything being where they had the dh, he’s probably has far more at bats accrued than he would have otherwise. I’ve never really been one to play what ifs. You can do that with lots of guys. What is is more important than what if.
September 11, 2022 at 1:13 pm #200133If Albert had remained a Cardinal, I honestly believe we’d be talking about #756 right now….
I think you’re right, TD. That’s only what?…..about 6 extra dongs a year that Albert would have whacked had he remained a Cardinal. I think Albert realizes that very plausible assumption more than anybody.
September 11, 2022 at 1:14 pm #200135Slow start today. DeJongs bloop single helped with our rally last night. Wondering if he can get up to 200 by end of season. Still plays good defense. Not many din-dins today. We may need din-din support today.
We’re having Brisket and baked po’s !
The baby birds get to flutter today so its their big chance to shine. I’m up for some small ball to get things going a little.Kinda dull so far. C’mon guys let’s get our uniforms dirty.September 11, 2022 at 1:18 pm #200136Greg Allen puts Q’s no-no aspirations to rest with a leadoff 3rd inning single. Then he promptly swipes 2nd as Yadi couldn’t cleanly get the ball out of his glove…..then without Delay, the Pirates catcher spanks a base hit to right with Allen stopping at 3rd.
September 11, 2022 at 1:20 pm #200137Pitts Allen draws first dirt- stole 2nd and base hit. They can play small ball!
September 11, 2022 at 1:21 pm #200138Black hats at the corners…
September 11, 2022 at 1:24 pm #200139Ground ball scores Allen.See getting dirty pays off!
September 11, 2022 at 1:25 pm #20014082willie…Oh, I understand. Obviously, I have nothing to base that guess on, but I’ve always thought his career numbers would be a bit better if he wouldn’t have left. Another guess is that Albert may have some misgivings about leaving StL. Especially after the season he’s had so far in his time back home. I think he knows he may have made a mistake.
September 11, 2022 at 1:27 pm #200141That Cruz guys quite a player.

ParticipantI think Albert is ok with his decision to leave. You don’t make quick decisions on stuff like that.
September 11, 2022 at 1:33 pm #200143Another sweet Wooster and Cardinal In France din-din. What’s on tap for me for din-din on this fine Sunday evening one may ask? Well, the wifey is out of town, so I’m cooking up a large can of Dinty Moore beef stew, potato chips dipped in sour cream and an entire Dutch apple pie that she concocted before leaving. I think it wise to gob on a healthy heaping of Breyer’s vanilla ice cream for good measure. Today it’s Cardinal baseball, Packer football and nobody to pester me to pick things up. It doesn’t get much better than that. Do any of you guys have a wife that’s a total and unequivocal clean freak? Mine is insane with it. Even though I’m not tidy, I do have to live in a clean house….. it’s one of the many reasons why I got down on one knee with ring in hand in her presence. But she’s ridiculously clean, so when she leaves town for a few days, it’s like Christmas come early.
September 11, 2022 at 1:35 pm #200144I remember when Albert left it was about making lots of money. I believe he also went to play for La Russa. Could be wrong-was a long time ago. Angels offer wasn’t that much more than ours but Cardinals stood firm on the money. He got alot of attention as DH and center piece of that team.
September 11, 2022 at 1:42 pm #200145Q sets the Bucs down in one pretty little 1-2-3 chorus line in the 4th…..Cards still on the short end of a 1-0 ballgame. If no vehement sentiments exist, I’ll call the Cardinal 5th.
September 11, 2022 at 1:43 pm #200146Pugs you gotta learn to cook buddy. I love canned chili with beans. In my undomesticated college days I could make rice and put it on there. Living high on the hog! Sour cream and potato chips with beef stew? Yuk. Cast iron stomach guy.LOL!
September 11, 2022 at 1:50 pm #200147Top of 5. Cy Keller still dealing for Pittsburgh.
Nooty on 3-2 takes one low and inside and he’ll trot on down to 1st base with the potential tying run.
O’Neill pops out to Castro at 2nd base.
Gorman on 3-2 walks on a pitch in the dirt….it appeared the sometimes over-anxious rookie wanted to take a hack at it, but checked his swing at the very last millisecond.
Yadi bounces into a 4-6-3 twin killing.

Cards 0September 11, 2022 at 1:52 pm #200148Yadi bunts there? Move Gorman over?
September 11, 2022 at 1:53 pm #200149Stew and potato chips with sour cream are a marvelous combo, Wooster. It may not sound good, but try it once. You’re right about the “iron gut” comment though, as I have never experienced an upset stomach due to food…… alcohol has roughed up my tummy a time or two though.
September 11, 2022 at 2:01 pm #200150Q successfully extracts himself from a slight 5th inning pickle. Time for our boys to get not one run …not two runs ….but three runs.
September 11, 2022 at 2:01 pm #200151Only have 12 outs left in the bank. Time to push some runs across.
September 11, 2022 at 2:07 pm #200152Top of 6.
Burleson lines a wicked shot…..but right at the 3rd baseman Hayes.
Donovan bounces a routine roller to Hayes at 3rd and he’ll easily throw Brendan out at 1st base for out #2 here in the Redbird 6th.
Edman lines a base hit to left where Suwinski hustles on over to cut it off before Edman could turn that hit into a double.
Dickerson grounds out to Hayes at 3rd.

Cards 0September 11, 2022 at 2:11 pm #200153Donovan playing some Arenado-like defense over at 3rd base today in his stead.
September 11, 2022 at 2:14 pm #200154I just started to post that Quintana goes 6 innings, for a change. And then he didn’t.
September 11, 2022 at 2:15 pm #200155Hope Q isn’t hurt, as he appeared to take himself out of this ballgame with 2 out and a runner at 1st in the Pittsburgh 6th. Only 6 combined hits between these two fine clubs today…. unfortunately, the Pirates are proud owners of 4 of the 6.
Hicks enters and entices a routine fly to O’Neill in short left-center field to retire the side.
September 11, 2022 at 2:27 pm #200157Top of 7. Cy Keller still pitching for Pittsburgh with 72 tosses under his belt as this inning commences.
Albert strikes out swinging and Albert is 0-3 on the afternoon.
Nooty on 3-2 walks for the second time today to go along with a base hit.
Nooty nailed trying to steal 2nd base and without Yadi at the dish, was this attempt necessary at this juncture?
O’Neill on 3-2 strikes out looking, Keller’s 6th K on the day and this effort by Keller today is easily his finest on the year…..and of course it HAS to come against us.
