1toughdominican. I respect what you are saying but I disagree. Staying with the Cardinals wouldn’t have changed his injuries. He was already suffering from that stuff the last year or so with st Louis. Also not having dh, would the Cardinals have stayed with him all these years. We wouldn’t have goldy. If anything being where they had the dh, he’s probably has far more at bats accrued than he would have otherwise. I’ve never really been one to play what ifs. You can do that with lots of guys. What is is more important than what if.
If Albert had remained a Cardinal, I honestly believe we’d be talking about #756 right now….
I think you’re right, TD. That’s only what?…..about 6 extra dongs a year that Albert would have whacked had he remained a Cardinal. I think Albert realizes that very plausible assumption more than anybody.
Slow start today. DeJongs bloop single helped with our rally last night. Wondering if he can get up to 200 by end of season. Still plays good defense. Not many din-dins today. We may need din-din support today.

82willie…Oh, I understand. Obviously, I have nothing to base that guess on, but I’ve always thought his career numbers would be a bit better if he wouldn’t have left. Another guess is that Albert may have some misgivings about leaving StL. Especially after the season he’s had so far in his time back home. I think he knows he may have made a mistake.
Another sweet Wooster and Cardinal In France din-din. What’s on tap for me for din-din on this fine Sunday evening one may ask? Well, the wifey is out of town, so I’m cooking up a large can of Dinty Moore beef stew, potato chips dipped in sour cream and an entire Dutch apple pie that she concocted before leaving. I think it wise to gob on a healthy heaping of Breyer’s vanilla ice cream for good measure. Today it’s Cardinal baseball, Packer football and nobody to pester me to pick things up. It doesn’t get much better than that. Do any of you guys have a wife that’s a total and unequivocal clean freak? Mine is insane with it. Even though I’m not tidy, I do have to live in a clean house….. it’s one of the many reasons why I got down on one knee with ring in hand in her presence. But she’s ridiculously clean, so when she leaves town for a few days, it’s like Christmas come early.
I remember when Albert left it was about making lots of money. I believe he also went to play for La Russa. Could be wrong-was a long time ago. Angels offer wasn’t that much more than ours but Cardinals stood firm on the money. He got alot of attention as DH and center piece of that team.
Q sets the Bucs down in one pretty little 1-2-3 chorus line in the 4th…..Cards still on the short end of a 1-0 ballgame. If no vehement sentiments exist, I’ll call the Cardinal 5th.

Cards 0Stew and potato chips with sour cream are a marvelous combo, Wooster. It may not sound good, but try it once. You’re right about the “iron gut” comment though, as I have never experienced an upset stomach due to food…… alcohol has roughed up my tummy a time or two though.
Q successfully extracts himself from a slight 5th inning pickle. Time for our boys to get not one run …not two runs ….but three runs.

Donovan bounces a routine roller to Hayes at 3rd and he’ll easily throw Brendan out at 1st base for out #2 here in the Redbird 6th.
Edman lines a base hit to left where Suwinski hustles on over to cut it off before Edman could turn that hit into a double.
Dickerson grounds out to Hayes at 3rd.

Cards 0Hope Q isn’t hurt, as he appeared to take himself out of this ballgame with 2 out and a runner at 1st in the Pittsburgh 6th. Only 6 combined hits between these two fine clubs today…. unfortunately, the Pirates are proud owners of 4 of the 6.
Hicks enters and entices a routine fly to O’Neill in short left-center field to retire the side.

Albert strikes out swinging and Albert is 0-3 on the afternoon.

Nooty nailed trying to steal 2nd base and without Yadi at the dish, was this attempt necessary at this juncture?
O’Neill on 3-2 strikes out looking, Keller’s 6th K on the day and this effort by Keller today is easily his finest on the year…..and of course it HAS to come against us.
