I don’t understand your math. Without short rest, the Division Series game 1 or 2 starter can only pitch game 5. Game 4 has to be pitched by the #4 starter

OK they could need a 4th SP in game 4, could be a pen game too with the next day off. But probably would see Quintana there. But again Flaherty could really change things if he can prove he’s healthy and can throw strikes.

Over under how many times Dan mentions it’d Wainwright’s 41st birthday today?

Yuck, Molina. I don’t care if he goes 4 for 4 tonight with a grand slam. Let him catch Adam and invest all other starts in Knizner.

Cards667…Haha! Wouldn’t suprise me if he mentions the gift certificate for Flomax refills…

With the exception of Molina, the BA’s of tonight’s line-up are looking pretty good. TO’s still at a modest .233, but anyone who has 4 taters in their last 8 AB’s gets a pass…

Would need a 4th starter in Game 1 of division series if wild card series goes 3 games — or short rest for the guy who pitches the first wild card game.

    667. Wainos age mentioNs, about three fewer times than he mentions how many hrs pujols is short of 700.

A couple of thoughts here: Donovan is a ball player, a throw back, a youngster that hustles and gets his uniform dirty. He plays with a passion. Also, I vote for Montgomery for Pitcher of the Month in the NL. One bad outing but he was was lights out in his other starts. Go Cards.

Really like what Donovan brings to the game. Noot is similar. Both of those guys hustle and usually put the ball in play. With Dickerson hot, Noot has usurped Carlson right now for playing time.

Looks like the DeJong experiment might be over.

wagee12…Yeah, Donovan’s been outstanding and extremely consistent throughout the season. I’ve found myself expecting him to reach base with every PA. The guy displays incredible plate discipline. Especially for a rookie.

This is pretty much where I am, but that’ll never happen. I’ll also be surprised, regardless of what happens the rest of the regular season, if Knizner gets a post-season start. We’ve got to hope Yadi can get just a little something going soon.

But, but, but, he OPSed .865 in AAA.

Molina obviously looks worn out and isn’t having any impact whatsoever with the bat, but I have to think that he mans up behind HP for the Redbirds in the majority of play-off games if they indeed qualify for post-season play. Also, whether it means anything or not, I happened to notice that the only questionable turn by Monte with the Cardinals was vs. Atl. without Molina situated as his starting C. You almost have to feel bad for AK-7 because he’s had a few nice games recently.

So far…..this Dunn guy has thrown 1st Pitch Strikes…. and we’ve watched them fly by.

Seems we could have been up at least 4-0 so far…. if we would have gotten singles off
    those first pitch strikes.

I can’t recall Eddie ever hitting a baseball that hard and far from the LH side.

Still have 15 outs to push 4 runs across. Certainly within reach.
