RHP Dakota Hudson (6-6, 4.33) vs RHP Marcus Stroman (3-5, 3.83)
MLB Network (out of market) // BSM // KMOX
Also BSSO and BSSW+August 25, 2022 at 6:24 am #197524Ack! Hudson again already when we need to win to take the series? Pallante please!

stlcard25ParticipantThis one is important to keep the momentum going into the Atlanta series. Hudson is due to have a good start…right?
If Stroman is on his game it may be tough sledding…let’s hope he’s a little bit off. So far the guys you’d expect the Cards to feast on have shut the lineup down, so maybe the opposite will be in play.
August 25, 2022 at 9:43 am #197554ZTR, I couldn’t agree with that more. I’d guess the choice is more in regards to Pallante’s innings vs thinking Hudson is the better option. He pitched roughly 120 last year and already at 93 this year.
Hopefully in 2023 Hudson is playing for the Brewers, Pirates, Cubs or Reds. He could maybe bring back an ok prospect with 2 years of control left?
August 25, 2022 at 9:48 am #197555It looks like the game should get in today, just stopped raining here (I’m about 0.7 miles from Wrigley as a bird flies) and only a 15% chance each hour from 10-3, but then jumps up to 50% at 4, so it could possibly be a shortened game.
Score big early boys!

ParticipantMaybe they can package a deal to trade Hudson and DeJug together!
August 25, 2022 at 10:47 am #197566The RHP’er that the Cardinals will face today is listed at 5′-7″. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him work while wearing a Cubbie uniform, but seem to remember seeing him at the Belmont wearing silks…At any rate, these Cubs have been pesky like always. I’m sure the Redbirds know that it’s important to demonstrate thay they’re the better ballclub with a W today to take 3 of the 5 games. Man, 5′-7″…If this guy can pitch in the Big Leagues, I ought to be able to post up in the NBA.
August 25, 2022 at 10:51 am #197568The Doppler Radar appears to show all clear in the Chicago area now. Hopefully it won’t get rained out or delayed.
Din-din today is a ribeye steak in the air fryer, seasoned with olive oil, A1, and Montreal Seasoning. Some Aces High Sweet Corn, a Pepsi, and the last piece of cherry pie from the Amish restaurant. Then out to mow and jog. Then in to clean up real quick and sit on the couch with Whitey Herdog and catch the game.

August 25, 2022 at 11:30 am #197572I have a gut feeling we are going to need Cubs help to win this one tonight, a couple of blunders to overcome our sleeping bats.
Going meatless tonight for din=din – vegetable turnovers hot out of the oven, lettuce, tomato and feta salad and some Haagen-Dasz vanilla sprinkled with raspberries.
August 25, 2022 at 11:59 am #197575Seeing isn’t always believing. DeJong’s in the line-up. Nado isn’t.

stlcard25ParticipantSeems odd to give Arenado the day off after he barely played last night.
August 25, 2022 at 12:10 pm #197578stlcard…If odd means bizarre, I’d say so.
August 25, 2022 at 12:20 pm #197579Dickerson has 8 hits in his last 8 AB’s. He’s slotted at clean-up today. I guess the Redbird manager feels the odds are in his favor…Anyone know the record for consecutive base hits?
August 25, 2022 at 12:24 pm #197580Just looked it up. Three guys that I never heard of are tied with 12.
August 25, 2022 at 12:32 pm #197581Earlier in the season the Yankees looked almost unbeatable. Now, there’s a good chance they might not win 100 games. Meanwhile, the Dodgers may win 200…
August 25, 2022 at 12:57 pm #197583Arenado is on paternity leave for his first child.
August 25, 2022 at 1:35 pm #197587Dickerson now 9 hits in a row. Good grief is he bidding to get re-signed next year?
August 25, 2022 at 1:37 pm #197589gscaottar…Broadcast just said that ties a team record.
August 25, 2022 at 1:41 pm #197590Dickerson now up to a .273 BA. Seems like less than a month ago he was around a buck twenty.

Ever heard of Bobby Shanz?

Five foot 6 inch LHP, 1952 A.L. MVP
August 25, 2022 at 1:56 pm #197609LeGrand…Yes, I have. Still pretty rare even back then, but now all pitchers seem to be several inches over 6 ft. and weigh upwards of 220 lbs. One on my favorite position players from the 70’s was SS Freddie Patek. He was 5′-5″ and weighed under 150 lbs.

stlcard25ParticipantFirst Knizner makes a mockery of the base paths and now Hudson is trying to let the Cubs right back into it.
August 25, 2022 at 2:07 pm #197612Dom…talking about runts, I don’t hear anything about Altuve lately
August 25, 2022 at 2:08 pm #197613stlcards…”mockery” Haha!
