Every time Albert plays it seems the “Play next year?” meter goes a couple more notches towards the “Yes” side.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m entirely comfortable with GC working the 8th…Today only sale.

Good game to put Cabby in to. With no pressure, would be great for him to pitch well and get some confidence back. He was brutal a week ago in the game I saw. Straight fastballs that got tattooed.

BikeMike…Yeah, I really have no just cause to be too hard on the guy simply because he hasn’t been all that bad. You can do a whole lot worse than CG. My impression is that he’s either incredibly effective, or he can’t retire a pensioner. No in between with him. BP needs him, so I hope he can display some consistent success.

High water mark of 15 games above sea level. Hopefully by the time the Redbirds return from the 8 game road trip they’ll be cruising along near or at 20 over.

After trailing 5-0, the Dodgers have cut the lead to 5-3 in Milwaukee. Home half of the 7th.

We may have found a new top of the order while Noot and Donovan/Pujols are hot. Batting first and second was on 8 times today after reaching base 6 times last night.

Of course I missed the whole game. Albert pinch hit early, did somebody get hurt?

Bling…Yeah, Senzatela left the game after an injury while moving to cover 1B on a GB to the right side of the IF. Colo. replaced him with LHP Gomber. Albert PH for Donovan at DH and tatered up for the GS.

These types of games are fun. Sure, it’s beating up on a bottom dweller, but that’s what you’re supposed to do.

The Brewers beat the Dodgers to split their series so we are 3 games up still.

stlcard25…Yep, but at the same time, Redbirds lost 2 of 3 in Colo. last week, so you have to suit up and TCOB agaist everyone. I’m a little concerned about what could possibly be a trap series out in AZ. Hopefully the Cardinals will play well and win at least 2 of 3 out there prior to heading to Wrigley for 5. Don’t even get me started on that…

I heard quite a few people around the StL. area indicate that they weren’t all too crazy about the return of the great Pujols for his last season. Disparaging stuff like, “PR Stunt”…”Dog and Pony Show”…”He’s too old and will only hurt the team”…I wouldn’t have cared one bit if he went 0 for the season as long as I got to see the great Pujols swing the bat in a Redbird uniform one more time…GO REDBIRDS!

Albert is up to a 128 wRC+ for the year. When kept in the proper lane, he’s been very good, and has helped the team on a number of occasions. It’s really the perfect ride into the sunset…imagine if a deep playoff run comes with it.

It took a while, but Marmol has seemed to figure out what the Dodgers knew last year – that Pujols should play against lefties only. It has helped that the Cardinals have hit a stretch of them and have two more lefty starters coming in Arizona. We will see a lot more of Albert this weekend.

    Slash vs.
    RHP .176/.282/.315/.597
    LHP .354/.396/.658/1.054

    Two different players.

    (These are before today’s game.)

Thanks for the injury update 1TD.

I had been anti-Pujols from the day he left until the the day he returned and my avatar reflected that for all those years. I got rid of the avatar the day he signed, but not out of any sense of bygones or change of heart. I have wished him the best since he donned the jersey and am impressed with his recent resurgence. But the Cards made a monster offer and he turned and walked away. I have that in mind whist I am rooting for him to succeed.

BW…Yessir! You just know he’s amped. Decent chance he’ll really narrow the gap in AZ. between him and Rodriguez for all time 4th in HR’s before the Redbirds head to Chicago for 5. And there’s no telling what may occur at Wrigley. This season’s really developing into a fun one for Redbird fans.

Bling…Yeah, when I woke up that Dec. morning and saw that he bolted for California that cold winter turned into one of discontent. I got over it about the same time as the IF fly rule was called in AtL…

1tough, I can tell I’m getting older (even though it sounds like I’m younger than you). Your abbreviations make it hard for me to read your posts. I understand things like Cabby but I actually had to look at the roster to figure out the GC/CG that you used. TCOB I still haven’t figured out. It also took a while for GS. I deal with a LOT of acronyms at work all the time and go nuts trying to figure out what they stand for.

BTW, I don’t think I welcomed you to The Cardinal Nation forums. I really enjoy reading your posts. (When I can figure them out. LOL)

As you can see, I understand the very basic, common “texting” abbreviations.

Didn’t get to see game today but heck of a offensive explosion. Nice to see Albert get another one. Far as his numbers vs left n rights. I still say his swings have for the most part lately been good against both. Maybe not getting the results but I still like him vs some of the guys vs right handers.great pitching by waino. Nice to see him start getting back in the groove

Brewers hand on and down the Dodgers 5-3. They split the four game series in Milwaukee. They have three starting next Monday evening in Los Angeles. Dodgers need to win at least two of those three.

forsche31…Haha! I had to scroll back to see what I was talking about! I should drink more coffee… I must have inverted the letters on ‘CG’. I was attempting to represent Cabrerra. Typo. TCOB was meant to signify ‘take care of business’. I’m a two fingered typist and simply lazy…Insofar as the GS, I have NO idea! I even confuse myself…HaHa! Like I said, I should drink more coffee. In any event, thanks for the nice welcome, forsch31. And…GO REDBIRDS!

Drinking more coffee doesn’t help. I’ve been drinking coffee and it doesn’t help me. LOL I think I need to be drinking something with alcohol in it.

Great win today. I like the direction this team is going.

forsch31…Oh, I finally figured it out! I meant for GS to indicate grand slam. It often takes me a while to decipher some of my own gibberish…HaHa!

This month (prior to today), Pujols had just four AB vs. RHP. He had a single for an OPS of .500. His OPS vs. LHP during that time is a whopping 1.500. If I was a LHP, I would be very fearful.
