I’ll be at the Friday night football game so I will miss this one. The Castle Knights at the Jasper Wildcats. Castle comes in 5-1 and Jasper sits at 6-0. Should be a game!

I hope Shildt trots out a regular lineup and doesnt give time off to some guys. Seems like he has already done that.

I’ve studied this matchup from top to bottom. On the surface it looks like the home team has the definite upper hand. But the visitors have some young up and coming talent on the verge of breaking out. The excitement in the stands tomorrow night should be so thick that you could cut it with a knife. But I have to go with Castle’s Knights to royally hand it to Jasper by the score of 37-13…..and you can take it to the bank.

Got to keep whipping up on cubs. I noticed something watching the orioles red Sox game. The orioles batting helmets are awesome. They kind of look like their regular hat but oversized. Would like to see the Cardinals do this style. I would probably buy one if they offered them for sale.

Apparently mike Shannon said that word on the street was that the Cardinals are for sale. Ownership denies it. I personally wouldn’t think Shannon would say something like that if there wasn’t some truth there.

IF that is true and the team was sold by next season then certain folks in the front office could be on their way out…and A LOT could change…

Has an owner ever sold his team right after winning the WS? None I can think of, but I wouldn’t have put it past Charles O. Finley and that mangy old mule of his. Just where have all of the flamboyant owners gone?

Ol’ Irish kicked an ant hill I guess. It will be an interesting sub plot. If there is anything to it, media types who aren’t beholden for access will root it out pretty quick.

I started a new thread on the sale rumor so this thread can be focused on tonight’s game.

I haven’t been keeping up too well the last few days. What’s up with Yadi? And Sosa status?

From what I have read Yadi and Sosa will be ready for the wildcard game if not sooner. Just getting some rest and time to heal up.

By the way, even though these games don’t really matter, it always good to beat the Cubs. Another sweep would be fine by me.

Yea pound the worthless cubs. Yadi was banged up so I wouldn’t expect to see him a lot. Sosa needs to get some swings at some point this regular season. You cant let one of your offensive weapons not get any at bats for two weeks before the playoffs and then throw him in there.

I haven’t been keeping up too much the last few days.

Who could blame you with the wifey out of town, Bling. I’ve been very envious of Bling, BicycleMike and our perpetual bachelor, RatsBuddy, with their carefree days, with their better halves being on the road. The key to this game tonight will be containing this Schwindell fellow who has been hotter than a firecracker. Stop Schwindell……..and you stop the cubbies. Especially since we’ll miss Cy Hendricks in this series. I like 24 year old Lars Taylor-Tatsuji Nootbaar to light em up tonight to the tune of a ringing double to right and a monster shot high up into the rafters in right. 7-3 Birds your final.

This game is underway…..as Hudson’s second pitch is lofted into center field where it will pose no difficulties whatsoever for Harrison Bader and Rafael Ortega is this game’s first out.

1-2-3 inning with only 8 pitches heaved.

These base runners do not take any liberties on the paths when Paul Goldschmidt is fielding or catching a ball.

Hudson didn’t give up a bunch of walks in the first few innings. That’s a change.
