Losing “Lucky” LeBlanc and Jack Flaherty in as many weeks is more than any team can overcome.
I really struggle with rooting for my team to lose so to enhance our draft position….. but I think I can learn not to cuss like a sailor or throw things when we lose the rest of the way this season. What if we and the cubbies were to be tied going into the last regular season game of 2021? Could any one of us actually root for us to lose to the cubbies? I wouldn’t know until that time came, but I know I would not be adverse to resigning Tyler Webb and starting him on the mound for the occasion.
