That may have been Wainos last inning.
August 17, 2021 at 8:40 pm #170018This will be Wainos last inning
August 17, 2021 at 8:49 pm #170020Danny Mac trying use the Announcer jinx on Burnes. no no. It worked
August 17, 2021 at 8:50 pm #170021Back to back hits. It’s contagious.

ParticipantWell now we have a chance, can we take advantage
August 17, 2021 at 8:52 pm #1700231982 willie
ParticipantTerrible bat by arenado

ParticipantArenado was the big bat there. Needed one run not three. Swung at a ball. Definitely one you take, strike or not.
August 17, 2021 at 8:55 pm #170025Those pop ups were killers- they need to get creative when they get a chance to score. Jeeze man they’re only baseball players over there.
August 17, 2021 at 8:57 pm #170027I will ask again…. Is anyone really surprised we scored no runs that inning even after 2 on and 1 out.
August 17, 2021 at 8:58 pm #170029Play small ball and run the pitch counts up don’t make it easy for them.
August 17, 2021 at 9:12 pm #170030Nootys got zooty feet!
August 17, 2021 at 9:14 pm #170031Nooty can’t steal?
August 17, 2021 at 9:42 pm #170032At this stage, nothing shocks us about our boys of 2021 summer, David. Even so, we’ll still love them…..though I think a healthy dose of tough love is in order.
August 17, 2021 at 9:46 pm #170033I really like the way this Garcia has pitched. 7 straight scoreless outings. As hard as he throws, and if he can throw strikes, he could be a good middle innings guy, or setup guy.
August 17, 2021 at 9:48 pm #170034If nobody ever steals then they don’t believe you ever will. We are putting
Absolutely no pressure on the Brewers.Maybe after the return of Wong night we will start playing ball tomorrow?August 17, 2021 at 9:49 pm #170035I agree Cards 27 he seems to be getting better and better and has exstensive experience.

ParticipantWell it’s been a good game for our pitching for the most part. But their pitching has been a little bit better so far. Kind of how it breaks down. Sure we were hitting coming in but it’s the difference between playing teams like the royals vs upper echelon teams.
August 17, 2021 at 10:05 pm #170038If there are no playoffs this year, we can look at our first 7 games against the Cubs and Brewers. 2-12 is a dismal record.
August 17, 2021 at 10:24 pm #170040Great defense held 13 hits in check. Playing safe on offense results in 0 runs.Nothing ventured-nothing gained
August 17, 2021 at 10:58 pm #170047Well, Shuldt better loosen up, take some chances, and play to win.
Playing not to lose will not cut it at this point.

ParticipantO’Neill and Bader 0 for 8 with 5 strike outs. Is our outfield issue really solved?
August 18, 2021 at 4:43 am #170050Pitchers did their job. Too bad our hitters are off contending for A.L. ROY.
August 18, 2021 at 7:25 am #170051We get to face two more Ace’s in this series. It goes without saying that any club fortunate enough to have not one….not two….but three Ace’s, is a serious threat to go the distance. This start was Waino’s 350th with the Birds. Only 21 other pitchers have logged 350 starts with the same team. Our Cards have four of them now…..a couple of Bob’s(Gibson & Forsch) and a Jesse(Haines) being the others. Next year’s Field of Dreams game will not feature our Cardinals once again, with the Reds and cubs getting the nod.
